@flindip: Respectfully, I would disagree. Just because these characters are tied into comic books or graphic novels doesn't make them childish. That's like saying videogames should stay childish because they're videogames. Graphic novels, particularly, Batman (sse: Frank Miller, Grant Morrison) have been particularly dark, with various adult themes running throughout their stories. I think the Nolan films are a far better and closer depiction of that than those that came before it. I don't really read Marvel per se, but I think it's fine to go with the light hearted approach (and merely touch on Tony Stark's alcoholism) but there's certainly nothing wrong with making them serious or adult themed.
