Ughhhhhhhhhh. This is one of the saddest things I've heard in a long time. It's hard not to feel like you got to know someone like a friend after hearing him so much on the Bombcast and elsewhere. He was an integral part of my long drives to and from work and I came to love his sense of humor and general attitude. This is a devastating and soul-crushing loss. My condolences to his widow, his family, his friends and his loyal listeners.

Nice, I was hoping there would be a GB server at some point. I'll hop on in a few minutes. Thanks for doing this!

To the people arguing that it's unreasonable to expect more than 50 hours from Diablo III: We feel this way because Blizzard has set the precedent of the Diablo games being entertaining for years on end as a result of clever itemization and skill designs lending to a plethora of different builds as well as online interactions. Comparing a Diablo game with something like, say, Max Payne 3 is completely missing the mark.

Diablo III fails pretty hard in all the respects that its predecessors established when it comes to long-term playability.

@Loafsmooch: I am a big fan of the Ironhand set. I think it has the best pixel work of all of them.

Loves me some Ironhand. I've tried several others and nothing touches it, IMO.

For what it's worth, there was a correction by the author re: setting minerals to "everywhere." You can find this in the errata section at O'Reilly if you bought the ebook from there originally.

My most heartfelt condolences to you and your family, Patrick. I lost my father to a protracted illness a couple years ago, and it was one of the worst things I've ever been through. But here I am, slightly worse for the wear, appreciating life a little more and taking things for granted a little less. Having read and appreciated your philosophical bent both on video and in your writing, I hope to see you back when you're ready. Until then, my thoughts are with you.

Nice rundown. I have exactly the same party makeup, and indeed I ran into the same problem with a useless mage. Next time I roll a party, I'll be sure to dump enough points into one school of magic so that I can at least cast some damn spells. This game is superb so far, though.

@Rox360: It's a fairly self-explanatory image, so familiarity with the meme makes zero difference.

Your argument regarding the space taken up is totally fair, though. The reason I posted the full size version was that GB's image posting is busted in Chrome and that was the only way I could post it.

If it's no harder than Bioshock 1 on Hard without Vita Chambers, then count me in since that was pretty easy.
