" this http://static.learnaws.com/ec2_windows.mov video does the same thing and is hosted on cloudfront as well. "

Ha this has to be it. That video stalled for me too. Thank you Aishan and fninja.

Edit: Yeah it's not isolated to the videos I had the same problem downloading the bombcast. I think someone else mentioned this to.

1. Opera v. 9.64 and I've tried it with IE v. 8.0.6001.18783

2. Flash 10,0,22,87

3. Vista Ultimate 32-bit

4. Cable connection to a router (Netgear WGT 624 v.3) and the router is connected (by cable) to a cable modem. I have 24/mbit down and 10/mbit up

5. 15 gigs free on the system drive and about 20 more gigs on other drives.

This is whats happening. I use the regular video page on the site use the navigation to watch different videos (endurance run tab to watch E.R., TANG to watch tang and so on)

When I click on the video I want to watch it starts to load as it normally does but after say 5-10s the gray "loaded" section on the timeline just stops and the video won't play any further than what was bufferd/loaded. When the video reaches this point (the end of the gray "loaded" section) it just stops and the "loading..." text comes up on the video and it just stops there.

The really weird thing is that I managed to get the video to load fully about 3 times out of 30-40 tries totally at random.

I hoped I explained it satisfactory but english isn't exactly my first language so it's a bit hard to describe. If you don't understand I can give it another shot and describe it in more detail or perhaps find some sort of screencapture program and make a video of what's happening.

" Not to start any crazy conspiracy. Just for information. What ISPs are those of us that are having trouble using? I will assume that we are spread all over the world. But if we were localized to a region it might suggest something. I use Comcast in the North Eastern area of the US. I only ask because I recall a story about a certain ISP getting in trouble for injecting termination packets into downloads. Though I think they targeted torrent sites. I also believe they were force to stop. I don't believe this is the case here though because all other video sites are working. Youtube, Vimeo, Redtu...um... Let's just say they are all working fine. "
Well im using COMHEM a Swedish ISP so I don't think thats the issue. ISP's in Sweden are also pretty adamant about not messing with the connection since they would loose all their customers that way seeing as we swedes are quite fond of our bittorrent.

Yeah it's pretty weird. I lucked out one time this weekend and managed to watch the latest T.A.N.G. but other than that nothing has worked it just times out and refuses to load more than 10-20%. But it's like you say and the connection just seems to terminate.

Well I'm using Opera and have tested with IE aswell and it still doesn't work so it's not a firefox issue.

" Who here is having this problem and are using a wired connection?  I'm guessing it's a local issue with wifi.  I've had a few routers in the past that would do this.  When I switched to a wired connection it worked fine.  try that first before you blame the site. "

I'm using a cable connected to a router and yes it's clearly something wrong with GB since noone has any problems on other sites and several people have complained in this thread.

I don't want to sound like a dick but i'm going to anyway. Giant Bomb get your shit together and fix this now. I can't exactly demand anything since I don't pay anything for this site but think of it this way, my hate for you not fixing this is just because I love your videos so much. I WANT MY ENDURANCE RUN.

I you don't fix this soon i'm going to by hockey snus in bulk and send it to you. I live in Sweden trust me I can get my hands on it and you already now what a horrid experince hockey snus is (for those of you who don't remenber hockey snus was the stuff that GRIN bought them that nearly killed them on the bombcast).

Love Niclas

Edit: The reason I'm convinced it's a problem on their end is because it worked fine for everyone here a couple of days ago so obviously something has changed on their end or it's some global conspiracy that broke in to our homes and changed something in all of our computers.

Yeah I have a router too. Unfortunately I can't plug any of my computers directly to the modem (don't have cabels long enough) so I can't test it. But it doesn't change the fact that watching videos worked for everyone here before (I assume) and everyone just seems to have problems with watching videos on giant bomb and not on any other site. That and the fact that it seems the problem started resently for everyone here.

Edit: And yes you're right in that there might be something specific in all of our setups that giantbomb doesn't like if we could get some feedback from someone involved with the site we might figure out what it is but the problem definitley seems to be on their end.

Well I think we have clearly established that the problem is on giant bomb's end. Since several users with different setups from various parts of the world have the same problem and only on giant bomb. The player just seems to time-out after a few seconds and refuses to load any more of the video.

I have the same problem too. Started thursday or friday. I've tried it both with Opera and IE and the videos won't load more than 10-20%.

Edit: VIsta 32-bit, only problem on giant bomb. Swedish ISP.
