NEW COMPUTER IS WIN!

Well I've finally got a new computer, set it up, fixed issues and got it connected to the internets. The internet thing was actually harder than i expected, due to my 64 bit OS my shoddy Netgear pci card doesnt support 64 bit, so I had to find a card that did, find a store that sold that card and then finally find time to go outside and buy that card. So, without further ado, I shall paste mah specs! 
 
OS: Vista Home Premium 64 (Its cool, I'm getting 7) 
MOBO: Asus P6T Deluxe V2 
CPU: i7 950 3ghz 
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 295 
RAM: 6gb of awesomeness 
HDD: 2 x 1tb 
Screen: Acer 23" 
Case: Antec 900II 
Sound Card: SoundMAX HD audio 
Mouse and Keyboard: Shit standard Microsoft 
 
So I am very happy with it, there have been a few slight compatability issues though (for instance I can't play Dungeon Keeper 2) I'm currently in the process of moving over all my shit which may take a while but thanks to me finally getting file sharing working on my computer it might not take as long as I innitialy thought. I'm going to borrow Crysis from a friend to slaughter that game and show it who's boss. Now all thats left is to get a better ISP than Bigpond (shouldn't be hard) so I can get epic pings!

Congrats on the nice rig. In AU, do you at least get paid more by the hour than here?  You know, so it kind of evens out. If not, that's one more reason not to set foot on Australia. I won't even set foot on Austria just because the naming is so close!

That's win? Your graphics card is not even Direct X 11 compatible! Why the fuck bother to get WIndows 7? The RAM and the Processor are amazing though, so is all the rest of the setup, congrats on that.
 
By the way, I just noticed this is 4 months old.
 
And seriously, consider getting an ATI Raden HD 5970 if you want to call this win.

Hell, I don't know. Hopefully our wierd censorship politicians will get thrown out soon. We've got a video gamers political party and everything just for the occasion.

My card is compatible with windows 7. http://www.nvidia.com/object/io_1241025430517.html and I would like 7 because vista is gay. Plus I'm not going to buy a new card just because I can. This setup will run things beautifully for years to come, when I have performance issues I'll upgrade.

Dude you have no need to explain yourself.  Just getting rid of Vista is more than enough of a reason to get Windows 7.

Allow me to explain: I am not arguing that your graphics card cannot function with Windows 7, I am saying that your card is not DirectX 11 compatible, which means that it cannot benefit form the improvements DirectX 11 brings you. To benefit form DirectX 11 you must also have Windows 7, all I am saying is that, since your graphics card is not DirectX 11 ready, might as well keep Vista. 
 
But if you dislike Vista, sure go ahead. 
 
Yes, this setup is beautiful, that's unarguable, but the non-DX11 graphics card is a killer.

Fair enough but there may be some revolutionary driver update in the future and it'll take ages for developers to catch on to DX11 anyway. But let's all forget this shit and get on with something more productive then replying to a 3 month old blog post.

Snail mate, before you fall sideways off that high horse be aware that Nvidia was the first graphics vendor to supply Windows 7 WDM 1.1 driver support for their cards.  Up until ATI released a version the Catalyst 9.1 drivers which included WDM 1.1 support, ATI's hardware was infact not fully Windows 7 compatible as their pre WDM 1.1 drivers installed and ran as Vista drivers.
