Being a "discount whore" isn't that great but at least you feel like getting some extra bang for your buck =P

Oh right. I also bought four of that Prince of Persia. They will make some nice gifts for someone ^^

@Dagbiker: Checked a quick look back then when it was released. It seemed pretty fun but I bet it's quite huge and takes a ton of time too =/

.

Anyone else has some unopened games? Would be interesting to hear which ones and for how long you've had them =P

I bought Rayman Origins back in march/april-ish, and I was really excited about that game, haven't touched it. I also bought Valkyria Chronicles back in May 2011, the game was one of the reasons I bought a PS3 to begin with, haven't even opened that game either. Also bought Ratchet and Clank Collection, same story. I also have some games one steam I haven't even installed yet.

I'm an idiot.

@Nintendude: Thats one of the main reasons why I have not started it, I want to be able to spend time playing it.

All of those games look fun, except for Duke Nukem Forever.

I suppose it only cost 5 dollars, and you can say you played it. I suppose it will be an 'experience'.

Damn it I have one too. I bought Rock Band 3 because it was 10 bucks on Amazon "New". The reason why I haven't open yet was because me and my sister play the campaign, Band story?... whatever the point is, it was suppose to be a surprize once we beat Rock Band 2 but we haven't played since February. I believe it's been a year and a half now that I haven't opened Rock Band 3.

@JacDG: Steam is the worst for me. I have over 150 games unplayed x__X (It counts some dlc stuff incorrectly so I rounded it down.)

You can check a rough estimate of your unplayed games here if you like.

Yeah. I bought it because I feel I need to know what that game really is like. The biggest complaint I heard was that the design is dated but then again I've been more and more drawn to older games anyway thanks to GOG, my old consoles and lack of interest on full price releases. Probably gonna try this Duke Nukem Forever first, actually. Heheh =P

I have a bunch of games I have, but never played.

If I think of anymore, I'll be back!

Skyrim is just huge. (Dark Souls was my RPG choice back then, love the difficulty ^^) Speaking of huge games, I bought Mass Effect twice... (Didn't feel like installing it on a laptop so ended up buying it dirt cheap for Xbox.)

I started my Darksiders on a public LAN computer and can warmly recommend that, great game.

Anyone knew that there was an Xbox version of Red Alert 3? I didn't before I bought it for 4 euros around a year ago. Could not to buy it for that price >.<

I have an unopened copy of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne from 2003 that I have yet to get around to playing.

I also have sealed copies of Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 though I have in fact played the games, so they don't really count.

An experience? You mean like Limbo? Limbo was an experience.

@c0l0nelp0c0rn1: I'm more worried about the "experience" provided by the "3D POSTER!"

Wow, I never saw any 5 bucks discounts of games over here o.O

Yes to most of those.

Games I bought and never opened/played, cause I'm a idiot and don't have that much time:

Nights ( Wii )

resident evil 4 ( Wii ) - Beat it on the PS2, seemed awesome, bought the Wii version, havn't felt like playing it since..

Super Paper Mario ( Wii )

Enslaved ( Xbox 360 )

Too Human ( Xbox 360 )

Batman: Arkham City ( Xbox 360 )

Resistance 3 ( PS3 )

So much shame. :(

@JacDG: You should really try to play rayman orgins, it is easily one of the best games this gen.

That's pretty much my stance on Steam Sales.

Posted by Daiphyer

I still have 7 un-opened games as well.

Syndicate

Darksiders

Alan Wake (With both DLCs)

Fallout New Vegas: GoTY edition

Crackdown

Dungeon Siege 3

Dragon Age 2 (All the DLC, too)

And I just ordered Modern Warfare 3, and have yet to get Borderlands 2, XCOM and Dishonored.

Jesus, that's ALOT of games.

@Bio2hazard: maybe its a good thing that u didnt play Too Human

I'm not entirely sure how bad my game queue is at this point - certainly more than 50 titles if I consider simpler games skippable. And it is not just the number of games - a lot of them are games that fall in the 60-150 hour range, where it will take me 3 months to beat one of them.

All the while I seem to purchase 4-6 games/month. But at least I've not paid a lot for any games that were shelved for to long (beyond Modern Warfare 2) in the last few years. And they look nice on my shelf.....

The Steam Profile Analysis linked earlier says I've played 10% of the games I own on Steam. Sounds about right.

I ain't mad at you; luckily I finished most of my games but the problem with that is I'm" about to purchase 20+ games across 5 consoles during holiday season. They'll be so nice to look at and not play.

I have yet to play:

  • Vanquish
  • Bulletstorm
  • Just Cause 2
  • Borderlands
  • The Void
  • Starhawk
Most of them from PSN+ and the indie bundles though.

I currently have a list of 78 console games that are collecting dust on my shelf and have never been opened. Three of which were just bought a few days ago because they finally dropped down in price. I have made a promise to myself that this time next year I hope to have at least half of them beaten while still beating new games as they come out on top of it. Normally that would not have been possible but I just got changed to part time hours at my job so I will have a lot more free time to try this. Thought I'm an RPG guy so at least 5-10 of those are very long 50-80+ hour games that will take some time to get through.

Once that is done I will then start on my Steam games. That is close to 300 strong however, so I will be working on that one for some time.

Posted by Subject2Change

I used to do this as well, but I am working on controlling my spending. I even sell most of my games now, after I play them. Fortunately I feel like nothing from this generation is going to be super valuable in the future, so if I ever want them again. I'll just rebuy them.

Those are some good finds. Guess I'll have to pop by the local Anttila too.

Posted by vikingdeath1

just bought Alpha Protocol and Marvel Ultimate Alliance the other day, can't wait to get started.... And I still have barely played Vanquish, xenoblade chronicles, and the Last Story.

Damn dude, I only have a handful! Still feel bad about it though, because I was really excited about most of the games.

I know, it was my most anticipated game last year, but I just never get around to playing it, something new and shiny always makes me forget I have it.

@JacDG: Understandable, we have all been there. You will get to it eventually, and when you do you will be in for a treat.

I just bought 4 games at Gamestop yesterday for $20. They were:

  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution
  • Rayman: Origins
  • L.A. Noire
  • The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection

I started Deus Ex yesterday, which I played for like 5 hours. I played about 80% of L.A. Noire back in April but didn't get to finish it so now that I have my own copy, I finally can; then I'm going to play the DLC for it. Rayman and Ico/SoTC will take me forever though with AC3 coming out. So what will stay unplayed are those 2(3?), some games I'm going to buy and a bunch of PS+ games I have which are:

  • Rayman: Origins
  • The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection
  • Catherine
  • Ninja Gaiden 3
  • Watchmen: The End is Nigh Part 2
  • Bloodrayne: Betrayal
  • Double Dragon Neon
  • Scott Pilgrim vs. The World
  • Papo & Yo
  • Quantum Conundrum
  • Stacking
  • The Unfinished Swan

Damn games!

Or even time^2. Because this queue just seems to grow longer and longer. Oh well, just need to stop wasting time constantly on something useless which can't be completed >.<

Assassin's Creed 2 is really recommendable. Played some of it myself and it seems to be less monotonous than the first.
