Atari Jaguar and Jag CD system, the CD system was defective, returned it, got another and it too was defective, said fuck it and got my money back but kept the Jaguar for some reason.
Panasonic 3D0, I didn't pay retail(thank heavens) but I still paid, played Way of the Warrior for an hour and I dunno what happened after that, it's all gone, but I don't have the 3D0 now so I guess that's good.
Phillips CD-I, not at retail(see Jaguar CD details for CDI details).
First weeking a Wii U, I still have no games I want to play on it, I bought it for Bayo 2 but my interest in that has died down a little, now I feel like I have it for Zelda U, I am not a big fan of Nintendo anymore.
I see. You know, I was always curious if there are any female creepers, I only see that word being thrown at dudes 100% of the time. Anyway, I don't like saying this but there are female equivalents of all those things you listed, the difference is that nobody cares.
This is a pretty obvious false equivalence. You cannot possibly be attempting to say that the incidence of women acting making sexist jokes, acting like creepers, and generally making men feel unwelcome at real-life gaming events is anywhere near as prolific as men doing that to women. I'm a fighting game fan, and pretty much every single large fighting game tournament I go to is filled with this stuff. Remember the stuff Jared Rea brought up on the Bombcast about the whole "kill the bitch" thing, "send her back to the kitchen," at Evo 2011 due to Dark Phoenix being an overpowered (and hated) character? I was there for that, and it was fucked up. Even if it's done in jest, that sort of stuff creates a ridiculously hostile environment for women who are there.
I was talking about in general, I don't know what happens at FGC events. I am gonna take my leave now(posting wise) though, I don't like these discussions too much, I don't agree with people having to alter their vocal behavior when not directing it at anyone, if you're telling a lady to get in the kitchen then fine, do something about it, but if someone saying "kill that bitch" or "get back in the kitchen" towards a fictional character then I think that is fair game. Police bad behavior aimed at another human but don't try to police public noise pollution.
Let me ask you this question, do you believe using the world "bitch" in front of a woman is wrong? Do you think using the word bitch in front of a woman directed at another woman is wrong? OR!! Do you think calling saying the word is wrong in general? I am talking in general, not at FGCs, I am sure FGCs are considered private affairs and so they can set rules and regulations as they see fit. What I am trying to gather here is where then line is exactly when it comes to women because it seems like it moves a lot depending on who you talk to while the line for dudes seems to be pretty much in the same spot at all times. What do I know? I am just an observer 99% of the time.
@nmc2008: the reason it's a big deal is men de facto have their own space already because of how hostile certain environments can be to women. now that's not to say there aren't environments that are hostile to men as well, and that's not cool, but let's face it, there are a LOT more of those for women than men.
Such as? I am curious, I mean I feel like things can become out of control pretty much anywhere for anyone and anytime.
Fucking creepers who won't stop staring at them like starved wolves in front of a fresh kill. Rape comments, awkward come-ons, kitchen jokes, you name it. Social retards who don't know the first thing about healthy interactions with women. It won't get better until they learn that their behavior is unacceptable, and that won't happen until more women enter the scene.
I see. You know, I was always curious if there are any female creepers, I only see that word being thrown at dudes 100% of the time. Anyway, I don't like saying this but there are female equivalents of all those things you listed, the difference is that nobody cares. *shrug* At least you(I feel like you're a lady for some reason though I am not sure, if I am wrong then I am sorry) have people who try to fight against it, which is good but if some dude came and said "Man these damn girls keep making rape comments at me" do you know what would happen next? I am sure you do. Again I don't like doing this but I feel like I have to. Shit is rough all over.
