And it has fat chained prison guys, demons, and the zerg! Wowza!
(Note: I did not make this--this is a "legitimate" advertisement that came up on a program I use to watch Chinese television. I just thought you guys would enjoy.)
" This might sound lazy but...The amount of time I have to spend installing the game, patching the game, tweaking the game to get it to run properly all of that is labor to me. Easy labor but still labor. A console game involves putting in the game and maybe waiting while the console, but not me, patches the game. So, that extra $10 I save with the PC game (I answered 'D' by the way) is, in my mind, a labor fee. If I want to spend an extra $10 dollars so I don't have to deal with the hassle of PC gaming I'll buy the game on a console.Well, that's how my brain works anyway. "
Wow, good point--I never really thought about it like that. That makes a lot of sense.
" So I just saw that the PC version of Deus Ex 3 is going to be $60. I've seen this happen before recently with other games and it just makes me roll my eyes. Does the GB community feel the same way as I do? "
uh, it's going to be 50? http://store.steampowered.com/app/39170/?snr=1_4_4__105_1 "
Ahh, you're absolutely right. I was looking at the "augmented edition" and didn't realize it. Still--$60 PC games. What's up with that?

@fisk0: I honestly don't know who owns the rights. This is "friend of a friend" information (Champaign is a small place *wink*) and I know they talk about it as if they own the property and they REALLY want to make another--well, if not Descent, then some kind of actiony space fighter deal--but whether or not the ownership stuff is theirs, well, I'm not close enough to the source to say for sure. They did do the Descent: FreeSpace stuff back before they were bought up by THQ, so they might have something under that banner, but, yeah, not sure.
Don't ask where/why I know this, but Volition has been wanting to do an updated Descent game for a long time. The designers out there have a deep love for the series. Unfortunately, the guys that sign the paychecks don't believe there's a market for a new Descent and would rather they use their talents rehashing Saint's Row and Red Faction over and over again.
My dad wanted to stop paying for Norton so I hooked him up with MSE. It's free, highly-rated, resource light, and well integrated into Windows since its made by MS. That's my recommendation.
