@capum15 Guess they resolved the ugly lag bug from some of the earlier releases! I have to say, their turnaround time here has been pitiful. Let's try the Beta.

@Capum15: I expect "rule" will be overstating the case. As I have learned over the past year, Minecrafters gonna Minecraft. I'd describe it as a polite request to keep things awesome. They should be very limited in number anyway if Creative people don't hand out the mats like candy.

@jasondesante: Quite a thing, isn't it? I'll be fine. Work is canceled and I'm all stocked up on liquor. Ready to sit back and watch the storm!

@capum15 DC! We'll probably not get the brunt of it, but it will be a crappy couple of days. I'm giving some thought to beacons. They're very cool, but less cool if they are everywhere. Maybe we could establish a gentleman's rule that we keep them down to one per settlement? Anyone else have any feelings?

@capum15 Great! I'm busy with hurricane prep over here, but let me know if it dies again. I'll reboot it if I still have power. :)

It didn't look down, but I gave it a reboot anyway. Let me know if it isn't working.

@RandomHero666: They would be two separate world files, so the next time we turned on the Tekkit world, all your stuff would still be there.

Switching us to Tekkit is as easy as cake. It is one of the supported mod packages by our server provider. I can switch it in and out at will. I am worried about the repercussions on our current world, though.

I'm thinking we make it a time-limited thing. Tekkit Weekends? Tekkit Tuesdays? I could restart the server in Tekkit World for just that amount of time, then switch it back to our beloved Vanilla server. Thoughts?

The current map is 1.8 gigs zipped. If anyone has a good hosting suggestion for something of that size, i'd be happy to make it available.

@capum15 All really good questions. I have no intention of changing maps, given the crazy stuff people have already built on this one. If the general sentiment was strongly in favor of it, though, it could happen. Sometimes maps get stale. My preference at this point would be to add Tekkit to the current map with the understanding that Tekkit might not be there forever.
