Remember that Steam itself is DRM. You can't remove all of the DRM from the steam version without disconnecting it to Steam, which is not something I think Valve is willing to do.

The MMO space feels like it's starting to get really stagnant. Every time I go to E3, I am underwhelmed by the increasingly large presence of MMOs, mostly from free-to-play Korean developers. While some of them adopt a few unique mechanics, most of them are leaning heavily on the tried-and-true.
