I've been almost strictly a nintendo user for my life without any issue but when I let my brother play his gamecube game while I was at work, it broke. He didn't tell me what he did but from the loud scratching noise (similar to a 360 game when you move the console during play ;p ) I thought he stuck something in there.
I remember buying a warranty but, like vgk, they wanted $85 to fix it. I figure it's a quick fix so I start to unscrew the thing. I realize I need a triwing screwdriver so I have to wait for that to come from China or something. I finally open it up and it looked fine. It's probably gonna cost me 85 or more to get a replacement drive but it beats 250 I mean 200
