Cruisin' for a bruisin'

I just finished a hours long hunt for Demon's Souls all over town. Went to every store that sells games, and even some that don't, on the off chance that they might have some games among their DVDs.

Now, I'm not really the world's most accomplished gamer, and it strikes me that going out of my way to get that game is kind of like a totally unfit guy entering an Ironman triathlon with his only possible reward being a sound thrashing at the hands of the eventual winner of said race.

I spent half my day fruitlessly sifting through games, fighting the phenomenal cold in the process, only to return home emptyhanded. Proceeded to order it online, and now I'll be watching my mailbox with bated breath.

Updates chronicling my inevitable frustrations with this game are sure to be posted on my blog, and I'm looking forward to it. If you guys have seen Jeff G's video where he plays Megaman 9, I bet I'll be on that kind of frustration level. And even though it sounds like I think I'll only struggle with the game, I'm really looking forward to it, the graphics look great, and I love the music! Dark, oppressive madness! I'd say for the win, but there can be no winning this, I suppose. :D

Are you guys familiar with temperatures in Celcius?

If so, it's right about 35 below zero here. That's the kind of cold that will freeze you to death in less time than it takes to update your twitter to say "It's fucking cold out!". What a nightmare! Sure, it looks idyllic, but touching a car door or a door handle will leave you scarred for life!
So I'm staying inside playing A boy and his blob. Great game! Great, calm game!  Sort of game that can idle in the background, and gently squeeze the life out of hours and hours. A silent killer, as it were!

A good weekend to all of y'all!

Happy holidays!

So how about this Boy and his blob-game? I won''t be able to play it for about a week or so, but I've seen the QL on the site, read the review, and other reviews of it, and it all just makes me want to check it out. This makes three hand drawn games in a row that I've played, Muramasa, Braid and A boy and his Blob. I guess that's what happens when you have some serious Amiga-type graphics nostalgia going on.
This evening will be another quintessentially Norwegian affair with looooooooots of traditional pork/extremely high fat food and some beer and other stuff. Family gatherings are in full effect. And to that end, I need to jump into my suit. Three piece suits for the win!

I have Gravity Crash, is Pixeljunk Shooter a bad investment?

So, there you have it. I bought GC about a week before PJ-shooter (as it shall henceforth be named) was released, and I kind of regret it. Not that GC is a bad game, it's just damned tricky, and PJ-shooter seems a bit more accessible (the dudes on the Bombcast kind of said it was a bit too easy), and I don't really do all that well with really hard games.
Anyone got any opinions on this? Too similar, or worth the bucks?

My PSP go, the gift that keeps on giving!

Got the Go a couple of months back. Special promotion for it let me get Gran Turismo PSP for free. Then another promotion allowed me to download Resistance Retribution, Killzone Liberation, and Buzz Brain Bender (Yeah, they can't all be games about killin' stuff). Christmas is coming up, and to celebrate this, Sony has offered yet another free download, so now I got Motorstorm Arctic Edge. Have to say, I'm quite happy about this.

To all a good thursday and a grand weekend!

Thank whatever non-deitious concepts you might have it's friday.

Two cans of red bull in a row makes me feel like I have both thought what I am thinking, and written what I am writing before I've done either. Kind of throws my entire cognitive system for a loop, and it is not an entirely pleasant feeling. It is, however, a slightly altered mindstate, in which it proves even more entertaining to play Disgaea. An already completely insane storyline takes on faux grandiose overtones, and I find myself grasping at straws, clutching on to the two or three Japanese words I think I know the meaning of, convinced that the game will take so long to complete that there's a chance I might actually aquire a passable understanding of Japanese before the credits roll.

First blog I've ever written, so I guess this is a work in progress. Anyway, merry weekend to you all!
