Is This as Bad as Big Rigs?

It's not often that I have the pleasure of introducing a title many are calling the next Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing. I'll be sure to cherish this sure to be forgotten moment. Enter Gioventù Ribelle.

Gioventù Ribelle (Rebel Youth) is a first-person shooter--created using Unreal Engine 3--which depicts il Risorgimento (the Italian Unification) of the mid-19th century.

The title was developed by a group of students to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Italy. Below is Italian President Giorgio Napolitano viewing the game in action.

While the simple fact that Gioventù Ribelle was developed by a group of students gives it a pass that Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing wasn't fortunate enough to receive, the game's prominent use of stock Unreal Tournament sound effects and utter lack of AI makes it even difficult to watch. Though, if you'd enjoy watching Gioventù Ribelle in action (you masochist), you can view a "walkthrough" below.

If the mention of Big Rigs: Off the Road Racing has failed to conjure up the most organic cringe your body is capable of producing, check out Whiskey's own Alex Navarro's video review of Stellar Stone's gem.

Italy? Overdone in gaming....come up with something new people!

I don't think you quite understand how bad Big Rigs is. In fact, comparing this to Big Rigs just makes this game look good in comparison.

@BeachThunder: Not my personal opinion. Simply a title many are calling as bad as Big Rigs.

To even call that thing a game, rather than just a shitty UT3 mod, is pushing it

Certainly fair.

Big Rigs: still the best at being the worst.

This is significantly more boring than Big Rigs because Big Rigs is FUCKING HILARIOUS.

But the fact that the game has sound effects and you can't clip through EVERYTHING means this is WAY better than Big Rigs. Also more boring, though, as you can't accelerate negatively at an exponentially infinite rate.

Nah, this is at least functional on some pathetic level.  Big Rigs isn't.

I think that as a student project it's alright, but it's not a game and it's certainly not great.
But it could be their first time using the software and for that I'll give them some credit.

This doesn't really count as a game. It's just some reskins and a map...

Should have been on the box.

This is just an incomplete UT3 mod. Because it uses the UT3 engine, it's already superior to Big Rigs.

I am disappointed by the contents of this thread.  I will continue to hope that someday, a game will be made to be worthy of Big Rigs' poop encrusted crown.

Big Rigs is actually a really deep social commentary on today's society, you just need to look for it.
