Basically I draw cool stuff all day while simultaneously watching endurance runs and quick looks. Remember you don't just have to be a tester or game designer to be in the industry, obviously there's always programming but also don't forget about animation, concept art(that's me!) and production(basically make sure everyone is working). Hell we even have HR people and an on-site accountant. So just remember, if you love video games and you are good at something applicable, put yourself out there and you have a good shot at being able to watch endurance runs while you work!
Also as a side note if you are a lazy person or a butt head, don't join the video game industry :) We don't have time for either. It's hard work and you have to go through some tough times with the people you work with and if you don't pull your own weight or if your personality is abrasive then you won't mesh with the team and you will eventually be fired.
Anyway, I'm a new user and nobody will probably read this, but if you have any questions about the industry, what it takes to get into it, or just something random, feel free to post or pm.
Thanks,
Norwould
