Did you set the framerate to "unlimited"? If you are, you might be rendering too many frames, causing your comp to push itself for no reason.

edit: derp, you said cpu, not gpu. I think it might be Physx like Marz suggested.

If you decide to fight him normally here's some tips:

- fight near the area where you got the armor; you will probably get hit by his fire blast once, but if you can tank one hit and heal, you're good

- don't block hits, just dodge and run

- go close to him bait him to attack you with his tentacle; he will attack the location you were standing on when he roars, so you can guess where he hits, then dodge and attack his arm

- his side sweep is pretty easy to dodge once you get the timing, (remember to dodge towards it to use your invincibility frames better) if you have the 25% equip burden dodge, then its easier

- his lava slam is the same as the tentacle one, just that it has aoe, so run away earlier

- the armor you pick up at the boss is actually alright for the boss. its light

@Tannrow: King seeker frampt is near the firelink shrine bonfire. Hes a giant donkey-snake thingy where that pool of water use to be. Plus he'll eat any item you don't want and will give you souls which is pretty nice.

Solution: Wait one month for fan to release combat slow down mod

The ad itself isn't intrusive, so I'm down with it as long as it helps pay Giant Bomb.
Plus it doesn't have that stupid thing where an ad pops up and you have to click the  "click here to skip this ad" button.
