@wrecks: I was (am?) hoping there is some kind of explanation for the look. I hope it's not just because they wanted a new look for Klingon's. Then again, there are other issues in that sense too.

Not just the staff at Giant Bomb, but people, in general, didn't seem to play Outlast 2. It got reviews, but that's about it. It was hard to find any conversation about it. I posted a thread about it wanting to discuss the story, and it was even in the community spotlight, and yet no one posted anything on there. That tells me there was no one is interested in the game, or not interested in discussing their experience with it. Yes, it does the unrealistic 'no weapons' horror thing, but still, it's one of my favorite games of the year and is probably the most intense I've experienced.

The episode was okay, but it didn't even finish the story, which is probably expected since they want to lure you in. Yeah, that's not happening. Looks fine.

@oursin_360: It's not on yet? At least, not here it isn't. I'm PST. And yep, fully agree about the subscription thing.

Is anyone interested in getting into it? I'm already skeptical about it, but I would have definitely watched it if it was widely available (as in, available on Netflix in the U.S.). The first episode will be available tonight at 8 PM (I just checked my TV; reports say 5:30 PM PST, 8:30 PM ET). As a Star Trek fan that watched all shows and films, I'm bummed out this won't be available to more people. I'm not going to subscribe to CBS All Access. So, if things don't change, the first episode will be my last.

@sparky_buzzsaw: You're not really scrounging for ammo, but you probably will regardless since if you're the exploratory kind of player, you're going to run into ammo anyway. There are many moments in the game where you won't even be able to pick up ammo because you're full. In Redux, there are multiple difficulties to select too, so if you want to go in more as a shooter, you can do that, or if you want to play where you do have to scrounge for ammo, you can do that too. Even on the hardest, I didn't have much issue with keeping ammo throughout. Redux also plays like one large game, where 2033 is episode one, and Last Light is episode two if you will. They play the same way. Also, off-topic, but something I noticed last time I played is if you play the game on hard or easy, your wristwatch differs.

I played Last Light first when it came out on the 360. I was hesitant to play Metro 2033 because I wasn't sure it was the type of game I wanted to play, but eventually went back and played it, pleasantly surprised. It was actually way more like its sequel than I was expecting, and had some great moments, so I liked it as much as its sequel. The only issue is that its stealth kind of sucked. Fast forward to the 'remasters', more so the first game where the gameplay is akin to Last Light, so it's slightly better to play, and looks as great as the sequel. My issue with the remaster is that they changed the voice work for children, so it sounded like adults voicing kids, and it wasn't as effective; it took me out of the experience sometimes.

They also changed some of the music around so it was less effective in some of the scenarios. I beat Metro 2033 on the hardest difficulty a while back (after Exodus' announcement). While I did that with Last Light on 360, I wanted to do it with the remaster but ran into the same bug that hindered the original version where you're in a swamp. and Just before the end of the stage where there's a boss fight, but you can't move on because the boss disappears. I stopped playing it then because I didn't want to go back through the entire stage. I like the gun use, and I think the look and feel of just carrying them are great, which has a feeling of heft. Yes, it's slower than a typical shooter, and not really like Call of Duty if you will, but it's not worse off for it.

The game works really well on the hardest difficulty as it's more survival. The only 'issue' is if you're not aware of where the items are on the controls because there is no HUD. The game has a handful of difficulty options though for those that want to make it more of a straight shooter. For you, I'd recommend the Redux edition since it does the gameplay portion better. I love the Metro games, and I can't wait for Exodus. Lastly, yeah you didn't get very far in the game; that's still basically the beginning of the game.

I'd be interested to see one or the other. I have the feeling no one on the crew went through the first one entirely though? I know Patrick reviewed the first one, but he's no longer on here, and Brad did the quick look. Now rewatching the quick look, noticing Dan was with him on it. I didn't know he was already on the site by then. Also, do they go through the previous game or games if they intend to review the sequel, or at least read about it? I just hope the sequel isn't looked past because I'd like to hear what the guys think of it, or at least someone. I have some new gameplay clips to show if anyone is interested. One from Game Informer, and another from GodisaGeek.

@kcin: Yeah, I know it's courteous. I may have to pull some cash out of the bank... I have been sighing since he brought it. I feel bad that I didn't give a tip and I kind of dislike taking cash out of the bank. I'll have to see if I can do it online because I would much prefer that.

@darkeyehails: The guy that just came was good, but yeah he didn't deliver to the door (do you have to specify that?) Personally, I hate answering my phone to any number I don't know, but I figured this time it had to be the Uber driver, so I went outside and he said 'oh, I see you.' and I told him he could just pull up front. I was hoping he'd bring it to the door, but that's okay. I'm just glad he was nice and didn't spit in my food (as far as I know), ha ha.

Also, do you guys tip? It says that it's not required, but if you think they did well at their job you can show appreciation by tipping. I just got the food and the person did well, but I don't carry cash on me so I didn't tip and I kind of feel bad. Honestly, I was looking for a way to order food and not having to tip though...
