Humor is one of the key ways humans deal with stress and emotion. It's how we often deal with the realities of life that no one gets to avoid. It may seem in poor taste at some points, but it's just as much a defense mechanism or a coping mechanism.

So - while it may be morbid, it's very natural. And personally, I'd rather live a life that leaves people laughing and smiling, even if only to cope with the hardest moments in life.

RIP Ryan Davis

Brutal. Just brutal. Ryan was such a nice guy, funny as hell and one of the really great voices in the industry. My condolences to his wife, his family, all of his friends and the Giant Bomb - he will absolutely be missed.

@pj: Yeah - I'm someone that does read all the blogs - and I still thought it was great. Was interested in all those games, even Spark. I'm excited going forward.

@batmeng: I can respect that - but you can't honestly believe that the majority of people are wholly concerned with that --- because if so, then Sony would be facing the same type of ire since they've released next to no information about their policies moving forward with Online Costs/Services, Used Games, Connectivity Requirements and on and on.

If the criticism is that Microsoft hasn't clarified those things properly for people (even though they have with used games and online connection requirements and console costs) - then it's doubly so that Sony should be held to the fire for discussing none of them to date.

@fizzylift: Opinions on what constitutes middling exclusives is a personal thing - but the vast majority of the conference was exclusive content; Ryse, Forza 5, Halo, Spark, Dead Rising 3, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive, TitanFall, Below...

In fact, they showed just a few muliplatform games, and by comparison to previous conferences it was grossly lopsided in favor of exclusive content. If those games aren't your thing - cool, get the system that sells the games that are. As I said earlier - as someone that likes all genres and both major consoles...this was a great start.

It's funny watching so many people on the internet the last few weeks. After the Reveal Event most people kept saying "they better show games at E3" then E3 happens and tons of people are still like "terrible, Xbox 1 is doomed..."

They did exactly what most gamers wanted; showed games and didn't trip over themselves with numbers and BS that everyone usually hates. As a pure lover of gamers of all genres - this conference was excellent. I'm excited again - and $500 is exactly what I expected the system to cost and online connectivity isn't a concern (thankfully) for me. Stoked.

Hope Sony's presser is just as games focused - though I'd also like to know what the deal is with online costs, connections...etc.

Great E3 so far

Honestly, it's my favorite expansion/DLC of all time...even if it wasn't the longest/best. It's right on part with the first games story, just more compact and with a better ending. If you haven't played it...do so. They show how to do story right.

Because of that - I'm thrilled they'll be producing something on their own. Hope it lives up to their previous effort.

Well done review. But - it's best to formulate opinions once a game is done, at least in this genre. The last 2 chapters fly by and our considerably more enjoyable than the first 2, imo.

It really isn't right though.

Game's out now and I rented it to check it out. Can't get very far online and all it does is leave a bad taste in my mouth, doesn't make me want to recommend the game to anyone and makes me feel slighted. If that's there plan - success.
