My D&D group switched from rolling 4d6s and dropping the lowest number to point buy. I'm not a huge fan of point buy but I can see why it is appealing. It just feels too constricting to me at least how my DM does it. He gives us 70 points to spend which means you can either make a very average character or a character that is good in one stat and the rest are dump stats.

I'm pretty excited for Destiny 2, Mario + Rabbids and Mario Odyssey

Honorable mention goes to Yakuza Kiwami. While I probably won't play it I am excited that it is coming out and I cant wait for GBeast and Pat from the Best Friends to play it.

I would say pick up XII. The story gets better a bit past where you first left off and the new additions Zodiac Age brings vastly improves the game as a whole. I am someone why fell off the original XII pretty quickly when it came out but I am enjoying my time with Zodiac Age.

Plus it is a great podcast game if you need to catch up on any podcasts you might be behind on.

XV is a fine game but it really is lacking in the story department. I found myself being confused as to what was going on story wise most of the time because of how it is handled in that game. The combat is fun and I hear they added in some DLC to fill in the story gaps but it just doesn't feel like a FF game at the end of everything.

Sure, give it a try. If you find you don't like DOTA you can always go back to League if you want.

I watch the Bombcast every week and listen to the Beastcast every week.

I'm only an hour into it but I'm enjoying it so far. The only complainant I have is that I really wish they redid the voice acting. I understand why they didn't but I wish they did.

Other than that I look forward to beating FF 12 since I'm not garbage at games now like I was when it first came out.

I use exclusively great swords in games like Dark Souls and Monster Hunter. They are big and slow so it forces me to think more before I attack.
