" I was already against the stupid "Your mom will hate this game" campaign, but then they had to add the most predictable tag-along song to the mix. I don't know who in 2011 thinks the Smashing Pumpkins' "Bullet with Butterfly Wings" is still an edgy, hardcore song. I feel bad for Visceral Games because they make a great games, but their publisher wants to destine their game for failure it seems. Luckily, early sales numbers indicate DS2 is during just fine. "-sigh- god forbid they use something classic like Smashing Pumpkins. Honestly, if the marketing doesn't suit you, don't look at it, don't watch it, don't discuss it. Just move about your day and if you're interested in the title, read a review.
I'm getting pretty sick of seeing all these people on Giant Bomb bitch and moan about marketing when it's either not for them (the people who were going to buy Dead Space 2 because Dead Space 1 was fantastic), or because EA knows that a lot of people would buy Dead Space 2 just because it's an action-horror game. Kinda makes sense to show off what a lot of people would be interested in seeing.
Also the "your mom hates this" was funny. A harmless video on YouTube that wasn't even used as a major promotional material. Get a grip, man.
