Second Mario Maker level, "Dune Surfing"; straight forward level based on running, jumping, and sliding down hills to take out enemies you can't jump on. Used the night portion of the Desert for a section to add in strong winds to the mix. Pretty happy with how it turned out.

My first Mario Maker 2 level, "Mega Mario Break-Out". Code: 3MJ-6GX-9YF

Was kind of fascinated by the BIG mushroom in the Mario 1 tile-set that let you break the hard blocks, and so I tried to build a level all around that. There are even short-cuts and alternate route you can take if you can keep being in the Mega state for as long as you can.

@flashflood_29: I actually just booted it up and finally got a few really good matches that were basically lag free. When it works for me, the game is great. I'm sure part of the lag is on my end, maybe the time of day for my last few games meant that the connection just wasn't strong enough.

Yeah I enjoyed playing the game against the practice cpu. The mechanics are really solid, and the different types of shots and how they interact gives it a bit of a fighting game feel. Really excited for local play and the single player in the final release. But once I tried to go online, it became a whole different story. The game suddenly felt like there was almost a full second between my inputs and the action happening on the screen. I've ran a few matches at different times of the day and have not had one good experience. The lag is especially problematic because it makes returning serves just a matter of jamming on the button and hoping I'm in the right position. I figure this is probably a stress test for developers to see how well the online code works, and so right now I hope that it improves in the final release. Because, for me at least, the online in its current state has been abysmal.

FYI: I am playing with the system docked and a wired connection to my router. I do not have this issue with Splatoon 2.

Phoenix Wright, or Ghost Trick, any sort of puzzle game where you need to also build a case or an argument. Those oddly fit being a scientist/educator.

Wow, I really don't know what I could say other than, thanks Austin for everything that you've contributed to this site; your thoughtful critiques, your enthusiasm over Gundam, your always evolving series of aliases/wrestling names. You've made this website better, and you will be profoundly missed.

Looking at the title I figure I should extol the virtues of the early Marx Brother's flicks and Laurel and Hardy and.... oh comic BOOKS.

I think the Tim Burton Batman movies hold up well. They may not be the best representations of the character but they're good films. Always enjoyed Spider-Man 2. And I'll second Blade. Haven't watched X2 in years, but remember that being alright.

I'm interested in it. I actually snagged a copy of the original Gamecube release the day it came out and really quite enjoyed the game, Never really understood the hate it got.

Made a level as a group project with a friend that I thought I'd share.

House on Haunted Hill

Super Mario World themed Ghost House level without any real puzzles, just a series of set-piece challenges. Also tried to lean into hockey "horror" elements by making it look like you're going into an evil house that doesn't want you there. Its a bit long, but I threw in two checkpoints to help out, and there are a fair number of hidden powerups.

I actually got my girlfriend who doesn't play that many games into Divekick. Granted, I set up the Donkey Konga controllers so it was really easy to figure out the buttons.
