This is a weird one for sure. It's some form of a parodical take on movie critique (maybe critique isn't the right word...) with heavy satirical elements. The satire is aimed at Jan de Bont's deeper commentary on American family life. Which is the joke here... As I'm pretty sure that the director of Speed had no agenda other than making a fun action movie with some decent character development. I'm a big movie buff, and love to participate in drawn out, silly conversations about the production of a movie.. the story.. set design.. (especially bad movies) etc. So I'm totally digging this new series. I thought the strange subject matter, pacing and dry humor was right up my ally.
This kinda highlights my thought's on Albummer. For me the topic of music isn't anything I can really relate with, which lead to go "welp, not for me, but I'm glad other people are jiving with it". Now I'm on the other side, where I'm into a new GB thing, and other people aren't having it.
The humor is a bit crude for my taste, but the cast seem like a fun bunch of people with good chemistry. They definitely got some laughs out of me. I'm not big into music so a lot of this kinda when over my head. But hey, now I know not to buy the new Weezer album.
