There is a difference between making something more accessible and dumbing it down. I'm a pretty experienced gamer, but Bethesda's RPG's have always been really daunting. Jumping into the game you never know what stats to level up or what skills will benefit the style of play that I want. And as such, I've never been able to get into Oblivion. Trust me, I've tried. I want to like the game. The scope of the world seems amazing and everything about it looks awesome, but every time I end up playing for a couple of hours, then I put it down and never pick it up again. Streamlining the interface and helping new players get used to the complexity of the system would go a long way to helping people like me play these games. There is no need to remove the complexity, they just need to streamline it and make it easier for new players to learn about the systems and play the game.
Agree 100%. Well for the reason I could never get into Oblivion anyway. Sounds like a good thing to me.
