I notice audio issues when streaming giant bomb to my Chromecast with Google TV where it sounds like the first second of speech is cut off. I can see the person's mouth move but the beginning of the sentence is silent.

I notice this a lot on Bak 2 School videos, but UPF is fine. Is there a difference in the audio encoding / audio bit rate that might explain why UPF works and other shows don't?

@the_nubster: first second of the GBE RE4 playdate on 5/22/19.

Also checked another video, the Quicklook for Rage 2. Around the 25s mark it looks like Vinny is talking, but maybe he's below the noise floor?

I assume it's a compressor issue, because it's usually only when somebody first begins talking.

I've noticed East videos have an issue where you can see their mouths moving but no audio. I assume it's some kind of audio compressor setting difference between the two offices.

Anyone else notice this?

Your updated build is very reliant on rebates - make sure you keep track of all that stuff, otherwise you will have blown your budget!

Not bad choices. Will you be overclocking? If not, you can get the Non-K version of the i5 CPU. Also, if the mobo supports slower memory speed (1066 vs 1600) that may be a good spot to save some coin. I also like modular power supplies to cut back on cord clutter, and you could probably get by with less wattage out of your PSU, so the Corsair CX600M could be a good option (and $10 cheaper)

If it's for gaming, any extra cash you can throw at the GPU will help.

$500? That'd buy half a GTX Titan!

A few other users brought this up in a facebook post, and Rorie suggested we make a new forum post regarding the issue.

Basically, my PC freezes for at least 5 seconds when loading Giantbomb.com. I'm currently using Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, and using Chrome 27.0.1453.110 (with all extensions disabled). Hardware wise, I have an Intel Core i7 920, with 6 GB of RAM (Triple channel x 2GB sticks). I had another site that would do this fairly regularly (www.thisiscolossal.com), but that site recently had an overhaul, and is no longer causing issues.

Please let me know if you need any further info!

A launch PS2 (replaced with a slim) and 2 or 3 xbox 360s (replaced with a slim)

I see a pattern.
