I like both. The PC is superior machine in every way ( well, duh ). You can make games look, run, and sound as good as possible, if you invest in the hardware. When I have the option of playing a game on PC or console I will always opt for the PC. But then there are many great games which are console exclusives that make playing on console a big part of my gaming. So I play both, but if I had to select only one platform at the exclusion of the other I would chose PC.

I play tested an Xbox game years ago over at the Microsoft Xbox offices in Redmond. The game was Tork. They called me up ( I have no remembrance of how they came across my number, but I was on their call list ) and asked me what kind of game I was currently playing. When I told them Maximo she was eager to sign me up. So I made the drive across the lake to Redmond and found about a dozen of us volunteers ready to play test the game. We were put in a room of cubicles where we each had our own PC to play the game on. It ran like dogmeat, the FPS were so bad the game was barely playable, and every 5 minutes we had to stop playing and answer a lot of questions off a questionnaire. All kinds of technical stuff like how do you feel about the range of Tork's weapon? Is he able to jump far enough to reach a platform? Not far enough? Is the environment too narrow? too wide? About every conceivable question you could imagine was asked of us.

After it was all over we were debriefed and told not to break our NDA agreement which I never have done until now, lol. Then as a thank you were were given a choice of a PC game or a copy of Windows XP. I choose XP because I had already played the games they offered, or wasn't interested in the games they offered.

I didn't care for testing at all. It was just a job and it was a hassle driving through rush hour traffic getting over to the MS offices. So the next time I was called to test I told her I wanted to be taken off the call list. That was the end of it, I never tested another game.

I Finally beat Dark Souls and started right into NG+ Then I decided instead of playing more Dark Souls to pick up a used copy of Demon Souls. I think both games are very similar in the gameplay department. So similar in fact, I think I would rather play Dark Souls NG+ just for the improved art, graphics detail, textures, colors, resolution and level design. I dunno which game I consider hardest. They are both very hard games for me. But I do think Dark Souls is an improvement over Demon Souls in just about every way. A prime example of a sequel done right!

I really want to know what PS4 will be.

I expect it to be beefy enough to run Dark Souls at a consistent 30 frames per second. I expect it to be that powerful.

I had both consoles this generation. Started out with the 360 but the more time went on the more I was playing all the best Xbox games on my PC. Finally, even though I wasn't using it much, it gave up the ghost, so I replaced it with the PS3 Slim. I like the Sony experience overall so I'll probably go with them next time, at least at first, then maybe pick up the 720 later in the console's life cycle after a price drop and the games are cheap. My main issue with the Xbox is how many of its games are available on my gaming PC. That and I am not a huge fan of FPS games like Halo and Call of Duty.

I just picked up MGS4. Only played the PSX Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Snake Eater on PS2. I didn't really fall in love with Metal Gear on Playstation. I didn't like the indoor environments so much and there was too much back and forth banter over the codex.

Metal Gear 3 was fantastic! Everything about that game was excellent; the pacing, the character development, the boss fights were the most exciting and original of any game I ever played, each one was exceptional. The environments were right up my alley. Crawling through the tall grass, wading through swamps, climbing trees, moving through dense forest and jungle, I can't think of another game that made use of the natural outdoor environments as well as MGS3. And it was consistently great from beginning to end. The game never faltered, never a misstep, no section of the game I can point to and say, that could have been done better.

So for me that is what MGS4 has to follow up on. One of the reasons I haven't played it until now is not having the confidence it could be any better than MGS3. But I went out this evening and picked the game up.

The most glaring example I have seen of why this current gen hardware is played out is Demon Souls vs Dark Souls. I finished Dark Souls then picked up Demon Souls for some more Souls action. The difference in graphics and performance between the two games is striking. Demon Souls looks great, but Dark Souls took graphics to the next level. Dark Souls is a fabulous looking game, but it brought the PS3 to the mat. In several areas of the game the frames drop into the teens or lower. Fromsoftware has pushed the console to its limits and beyond. Not only graphics but all innovation takes processing power. These consoles are tired, and if you like seeing improvements in AI, lighting, level design, motion quality, physics, there needs to be an upgrade in hardware.

I only do waffles. Homemade from scratch. Fresh eggs, whole milk, butter, whole wheat flour. This time of year I will put on fresh blueberries or strawberries. One [ 1 ] tablespoon of real maple syrup from Canada. Sometimes whip cream on top, and not Redi Whip.
