@Synthballs: well maybe I should spend 4 years at game journalist school before opening my mouth next time.
I mean clearly the dude knows what he is doing and isnt at all dragging the reputation of this site down with destructoid level humor, inaccurate reporting and yes even bad spelling.
remember back when 1up was sold and fired all the EGM staff and the dude incharge of 1up said something like "we wont ruin are site with traffic grabbing things like top 10 lists and random bullshit"
now Im just looking at some of 1ups recent features..... but damn content on that site has got so bad. like gamesradar bad

ok here is PPOD's simple guide to be a writer for a game website.
do you know anyone in the industy?
they might be able to get you some freelance work to review some crappy Wii game.
if not then go to college. get yourself a BA is journalism or english, write some stuff for your local news paper for 2-5 years to pad out your CV then maybe. MAYBE you can get a freelance job at IGN/gamespot where you will get paied minimum wage to review some crappy Wii game. review crappy wii games for about 2 years then maybe they start tossing decent games your way every few months, then maybe get a staff job where you will get paied slightly more then minimum wage. maybe after 5 years of that you can pick what games you want to review.
They best thing I can say to someone who wants to work for a game website is do other stuff if you want to get paid decent and want to have a job longer then a few years. edit videos, design websites, design graphics and so on because writers are as replacable as lightbulbs to the dudes in charge. you write one incorrect review/news story in your first 5 years and you are gone the next time they have to trim the budget.
I was going to make a thread this week asking what MS had for Q4 2011 but I tought it would be to fanboyish, seemed weird that gears was coming in Q2 and there was no sign of a new halo or something for the fall.
I was thinking MS would just let Modern warfare 3 having holiday 2011 and put maketing money behind that but I guess I was wrong.
MS need ether gears or Halo for the holidays (forza is great and all but it isnt on halo/gears of war level) and I dont think 343 would be ready to relaese there halo game yet. (plus having 3 main ahlo games in 3 years would maybe be a bad idea)
sucks for Gears Fans since it seems it being moved not because it isnt ready but beacuse MS saw a gap in there release calander.
on the plus side looks like another Gears of War Vs Resistance haliday....... YAY.
atleast whiskey media hasnt fired most of the editorial staff and sold giantbomb to some UGO yet so its weird for a podcast with Garnett to bring the GB subscription up
