My Favorite Games of 2015

Instead of writing an arbitrary ranked list of really awesome games that came out this year, I'm just going to shout-out games that I thought were awesome with dumb award titles that I did not spend more than 5 seconds thinking about:
Best not-Metroid game: Axiom Verge
2015's best gamecube game: Resident Evil HD Remaster
Best game that sports a retro-PS1 art-style: Grow Home
Best Descent game since Descent Freespace: Sublevel Zero
Best game featuring a singing shopkeeper: Crypt of the NecroDancer
Best game where open-world jank lead to unexpected hilarity: Fallout 4
Best game that's a not-yet-real-but-hopefully-soon-to-be future sport: Rocket League
The H.P. Lovecraft award for best Victorian-styled leather jackets: Bloodborne
Best "WHAT THE HELL KILLED ME!? WHO CARES START A NEW RUN AND GO!" game: Nuclear Throne
Best game that has so much potential but everyone keeps making shitty auto-playing levels for it: Super Mario Maker
Best game featuring time-travelling teenaged girls that totally didn't make me cry... multiple times: Life is Strange
Best game where the 2 robot characters had more emotional depth and personality than all of the human characters combined: Tales from the Borderlands (Also winning the award for "Best game that made me want to play Borderlands 2 again")
Best game that really makes you appreciate everything scientists do to send anything into space, let alone high atmosphere, without everything blowing up all the time: Kerbal Space Program
Best game where you're a kid, you're a squid, you're a kid, you're a squid, you're a kid, you're a squid, you're a kid, you're a squid, you're a kid, you're a squid, you're a kid, you're a squid, you're a kid, you're a squid, you're a kid, you're a squid: Splatoon
Best game where attaching rocket-powered balloons to anything that wasn't nailed down, living-being or not, never stopped being the funniest thing ever even after 150 hours of play time (also my overall game of the year): Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
