I'd be down, especially if that means we could get localized versions of the Final Mix stuff.

I'm not holding my breath, though.

You know what I see ZeniMax's point. This guy makes sprawling open worlds. He is making something similar to an RPG evidently. In addition, he wants to call it Scrolls.

I would say to Markus "Notch" Persson, "Really dude, you are so married to the word Scrolls that you simply have to use it?" If I got that letter from Zeni might have proposed what he said he proposed, but I also might have said, "Yup, what I'm thinking about might hit too close for the corporate world to feel comfortable. Just call the game Scripture or Scriptorium. Both of which are BETTER NAMES! Thank me later Notch, you can have those names for free.

Yeah, except Scrolls is absolutely nothing like an open world RPG.

It would be easy for Notch to 'fix', but the principle of the matter dictates that Zenimax's bullshit needs to be called out.

So why are their launch games so Western focused if it's coming out in Japan first?

Because it'll sell like gangbusters in Japan. Western audiences are a bit more harder to convince when it comes to handheld gaming, seeing as how we don't have nearly the same pedestrian/public transit culture that Japan has.

Those 'game design' schools are such a rip-off.

That said, I'm not sure if my graphic design degree from UGA will help me or be utterly worthless in the long run.

However, it did land me an art/design job at a tiny software company that deals in educational games... I guess this is what you'd call the first step?

@gorkamorkaorka: It would be more like announcing a remake of FF7, then cancelling it a year later and saying there's NOTHING Final Fantasy related currently in development.

@iAmJohn: I think people are more concerned with the fact that Capcom began the project joyfully inviting fans to participate, then completely shit all over those same fans when they cancelled it.

I personally was a little uncomfortable with the whole thing (calling it a 'project' and having fan voting determine game assets) but it doesn't change the fact that Capcom put this on the table, then passed the buck when it failed.

As much as I like Nathan Fillion... he's still way too old to play a young and dapper Nathan Drake.
