i'm not much of an environmentalist, but the idea that the end-game mother nature presents us with should be accepted because the alternative (survival) is just too damn expensive seems pretty idiotic. monetary value is something man made, ironically, not unlike the problems the planet faces today from an environmental standpoint, so hindering redemption of the problem because of something as trivial as money seems pretty motherfucking stupid. pardon the french.
Also, "what you're really saying" is the mantra of people who love language but dont understand it's use. language is a way to convey intent. maybe the word "pro-life" removed from it's contextual meme understanding means something totally different from what everyone uses it for, but that... doesn't really matter. it means what people understand it to mean. the word itself is a series of symbols and sounds that represents an idea. if the whole world decided Donkey was the word for a small, buck toothed mammal with long ears and highly developed hind-quarters, well, you could scream "it's a fucking rabbit!" all day long, but at the end of the day, Donkey's just as good a word as any as long as everybody understands what Donkey means to the majority of them.
anyway, i'm gonna duck out of this before someone decides i'm a pseudo-something-or-other.
