I can understand the dislike of having ads all over the dashboard when you're paying for a premium service. I don't pay them much mind, once I launch whatever it is that I'm on the console to do the ads are gone and I've got my full screen experience.

My question is, how is having ads on the dashboard any different than my paying for cable and having to sit through commercials with almost everything I want to watch? I'm paying for the cable service, why do I have to watch commercials? I know all the revenue isn't being put back into the product because all companies want to make a profit in the end, but if a portion of the ad revenue can help better my experience why not just bite the bullet.
