No, the comparisons to Mario Galaxy are not justified. And relatively recently is like the past 3 years or whatever. You crazy guy! ;)

The comparisons to the look and style of Galaxy are defiantly justified. I also meant relativity recently compared to the 12 years it's been since Sonic Adventure 2 came out.

The Sonic Cycle is a lazy cheap shot. The criticisms contained in it haven't been relevant for years. Especially as people have already pointed out the last few games haven't been horrible. Generations was the best 3D Sonic game ever.

"He's so upbeat, I wanna beat him up". The comparisons to Mario Galaxy are defiantly justified but Sonic's been so far off the beaten track since the Dreamcast days (Until relatively recently) I appreciate the effort to try and emulate whats possibly the best 3D platformer ever made. Just as the first Sonic was originally a cooler take on the slow and methodical gameplay of Mario I hope Lost World can ape Galaxy even a fraction of a similar way.

Such a fantastic game and. It's short to finish but difficult to master and has the exact amount of SEGA charm. The feeling of flight probably won't be as novel in the port as analogue sticks are all the range these days but back in 1996 the 3D Controller was a revelation.

@Potter9156: Because the robots are freezing the water directly in front of them?

Sonic Rush was perfectly good at what it was trying to do and after some of the recent 3D games at the time was a revelation. It's sequel Sonic Rush Adventure was trash as it threw in too many DS stylus minigames for no reason and lacked it's predecessors style and imagination.

Modern Sonic gameplay as seen in Sonic Colours and Sonic Generations is the best Sonic has been since the shift to 3D. They have a crazy amount of speed but require a lot of skill to race to the end of each level with the best grade. It's almost like memorizing a track in a racing game. Only the 2D parts of Modern Sonic levels let things down as for some reason Sonic is ultra floaty when jumping and lacks the momentum seen in Sonic 4 Episode II.

@bonbolapti: People seem to go "Ohh, Sonic game!" and rush forwards with reckless abandon then complain when they die because of, you know, platforming.

It's odd to me living in a world where Mario is considered the pinnacle of platforming because as a kid in the UK it was all about Sonic and the fat plumber was slow and unresponsive in comparison.
