Wow.... didn't realize Steam was such a nuisance to GameStop. I hope it will be. I hope their company dies.

Motherboard.

RAM

PSU

Case

Heatsink

Video Card

Should come to about 487.94 USD before rebates.
"
Great recommendation and thanks (I did have my eye on that case and PSU)

But I just can't afford it.
In the Canadian store, this all comes out to $742.58 (shipping, handling, CDN Dollars) and I can only spend a maximum of 500 bucks.
Thanks a lot anyway.

Hey there, I was wanting to upgrade my comp, and I need some help.
My current rig is a standard e520 Dell with a 8600GTS card.
I'm not sure about the Motherboard, RAM, Hard Drive, and DVD drive specifications, but I assume they're very crappy as they are stock Dell.
My computer sports a Core 2 Duo E4300 1.80ghz processor.
Anyway, the parts that I want to change are:
The Mobo
The Ram
The Case
The PSU
and the Heatsink

What I'm keeping:
DVD Drive
Hard Drive
Processor
Video Card
Sound Card

I have around a 500$ (canadian) budget.
Can you please recommend me something, I'm quite the noob.

Are Dell motherboards particularly hard to install into new cases?
I would go to a computer store, but here in Ottawa there aren't many specialized computer stores. The two that my family went to closed down about a year ago :(.

.. of buying a new case and PSU.
Is this one right for me? LINK

My current computer is in a crappy standard Dell case.
Here are the specs...

Processor:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 4300 @ 1.80GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.8GHz
Memory:
2046MB RAM
Hard Drive:
239 GB
Video Card:
NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS

I'm not sure about the motherboard, but its whatever comes standard with a Dimension E520.

If its a bad case/bundle please tell me, and hopefully you'll be kind enough to recommend one.

Thanks for the advice.

Are you drunk again?
What did your mother tell you about irresponsibly using the forums?

And no, it doesn't sound like a TIE fighter.
