"And to continue my rant. STOP CALLING US GAMERS!...that goddamn phrase they use to label us seriously pisses me off. Video Game Enthusiast, Fan, Fanatic, Player or something other than *cringe* gamer."
Only to the "electronic interactivist"  does the word "gaming" refer to video games.  For the rest of the world, gaming industry and gaming technology refers to gambling. I think it's changing slowly, but that's the way it currently exists.  "Player" has other connotations, as well.

As for actors and musicians playing games...cool.  Now I can die a happy man knowing that some performer whose work I've enjoyed plays games just like me.  I bet they really know me now.  I bet they'd really like to know me better.  I bet we could hang out together, play video games and rub each other with chicken fat.  I'm going to send Seth Rogen a lock of my hair...my man hair.  Only he understands me....

I didn't like Pineapple Express at all, but Zack & Miri Make a Porno was very funny.

I have no plans to pick up a DSi since I am very happy with my DS Lite, however, should Nintendo decide to release DSi only games that I find very interesting, I may have to take the plunge.  Basically, what I am saying is if Dragon Quest IX is DSi only then I'd get one.  Now, that would be such a stupid thing to do, both for here and in Japan, but sometimes publishers do dumb things.

Nice lighting, but - and I'm not sure it's something this engine would even handle - the physical weight of the shattered crypt cover seemed floaty.  But, like I said "nice lighting."

I can't say I am a big fan of the actual story, however I am fond of the characters, design, factions, and feel of the universe.  In my mind, Halo falls somewhere between your average "near future" setting and a grander space opera fiction in the chronicle of human development.   In an imaginary timeline of my own creation, Metal Gear Solid 4 would start, then Halo and finally Mass Effect.  Anyway, I find Halo a lot of fun, but the story is rather bland.  Interesting characters, intriguing universe, aesthetically pleasing design...not a lot more, though.  I think there is a lot of failed potential in what we've seen in the Halo fps games so far.

I just watched a deathmatch video from GDC over on GameVideos (in addition to the above posted video) and, Al3x is right.  It's a UT3 clone.  I hear it can only support 32 on 32 as well, so that is basically the same as Resistance 2, I believe.  Why pay extra for that?  As for the MMO idea, it seems to me there was something free that was done on MechAssault 2's multiplayer.  Conquest mode had people playing for a team and the battles won moved their side closer to galactic domination.  The war for the galaxy went on whether you were playing online or not.  I read it didn't work out so well do to flaws in the system, but the idea seems to be the same as the one in Huxley to me.  And as for character creation...well, practically all FPSs have that to some degree today.  Sadly, I'm not too impressed with what I see. Hopefully, the final product will offer more.

"what I've noticed is there is a ton of jokes in cartoons these days that no kid would get because it require knowing some really old movie or band or something "
Agreed, I was watching Aladdin yesterday for a bit and there was a William F. Buckley joke that I thought "Wow, no one under 20 will get that."  I really don't understand how anyone born after 1980 would get half the stuff in any episode of Family Guy.  But, I can say the same is true in my own experience.  When I was a kid, I watched a ton of Looney Toons & MGM stuff from the 40s.  Only when I got older and more educated did I understand half the references made to the life during the Second World War or the Depression.  Good animators can still make those leaps to entertain adults as well as kids, but often, it's the jokes aimed at children that hold up over time, while the more adult fare is heavily reliant on your world view.  That's also why game localization is so important when releasing a Japanese game in the West or visa-versa.  There are somethings that we don't immediately recognize in each others culture.  And while, the last 40 years of globalization has lifted some of those disparities, not everything translates well.

"There is also The Adventures of Brisco County JR. with Bruce Campbell that was awesome, but I am not sure if that was actually a tv show or a just a mini series."
Brisco was a full series (27 episodes).  A similar show called Legend starring Richard Dean Anderson (MacGyver/SG1) and John de Lancie (Star Trek's Q) ran about the same time on UPN.  It also got canned too quickly.   Brisco is out on DVD, but Legend is only available via "alternate methods".

The color I own the most of is black, but I generally wear green the most.  I like shirts of all colors...except brown shirts...bad history with that lot.

Spongebob is okay.  Older episodes are better, especially since Tim Conway is no longer voicing Barnacle Boy.  I don't think either Spongebob or ICarly would fall into the "you shouldn't be watching this" definition in my book.  I reserve my vitriol for Hannity on FOX and Keith Olbermann on MSNBC.  I don't care if you work for the right or the left, I have little trust in propagandists.

EDIT: I'm adding "Tim and Eric's Awesome Show" 'cause I think that show needs to just disappear off the face of the planet.  Don't watch it and give CN an excuse to give them anymore money.
