It looks like it has promise.  I'll probably just rent it, unless the multiplayer really wows me.  The original had a (at the time) unique mix of first-person melee combat and cautious gunplay.  Exploring the roots of a cult movie character was an original idea for a licensed game.  The game, along with an anime and full length film sequel were introduced as a three pronged onslaught of more Riddick.  I never saw the animated video, but the movie was flat, pretentous, and a waste of Dame Judi Dench's considerable talents.  But, the Xbox original was highly regarded.  I only played the demo (it was a very good demo), so I can't comment any further than that.

Well, if you are asking if the PS3 can rebound from its current position and reclaim the title of "console king", then the answer is no.  The Wii is so far ahead of everyone (except the DS) that no practical pricing by Sony or Microsoft will ever dethrone it.  If you are asking, in the slug-fest between the PS3 and 360, would a cheaper price help the system firmly take second place*, then the answer is probably -- with time.  Bringing a stripped down version of the console to market that runs somewhere between the 360 Arcade and the Wii would entice those consumers on the fence still to take the plunge.  But, as it has been mentioned by others, Sony has their 10 year plan.  I think, much like the PS2, long after 360 owners have upgraded to the next new thing, the PS3 will be chugging along.  Over time, it will likely outsell the 360, globally.  Of course, you can ask, at that point, does anyone care?  Who cares who was the eventual (second-place) winner of this console generation when the next has started?  Maybe, it will mean something to investors...who knows?

Is a price drop, at this point, feasible?  I'm sure my information is a little old, but last I heard, the cost of a PS3 to manufacture was down to $449.00.  I assume that is the standard 80 gig version.  The Xbox 360 announced late last year that it is now being produced at a profit (probably the premium kit).  Both companies' gaming devisions are running in the red, and will probably be so during this entire generation.  Somewhere, next generation this generation may climb into the black, but only when the systems are selling super cheap and all games are retailing for $20.

I think a price drop for the PS3 will come before E3, but don't expect it to make a huge difference in things for a long long time.

"Games I bought in 2008: (All of these games I got for PS3)

The only one I was disappointed in was UT3. The game mechanics were decent, and the weapons were varied, but the online community was about as lively as a graveyard, and there weren't enough weapons in my opinion. The campaign failed to keep me interested beyond learning the basics of each weapon and game type. I still haven't finished the single player in that game. I would, I just have no desire too. Big disappointment considering I was genuinely excited about the online portion of the game."
I agree with you 100%.  I was excited by the idea of downloading new maps and seeing what the user created content might look like, but except for a few sites [http://www.ut3mod.com/] it was hard to find and lacking compared to previous UT community support.  I see now the Epic is releasing a big addon pack (free, I hope), but I wonder if I will take the time to dig it out of my collection, download the new mods, and see what's what with it all.  Do I really want to invest that time on something I found to be lackluster and empty?

The actual JRPG king
The actual JRPG king

When you come down to which platform has the most JRPGs and best critical record, I believe the DS scores better than either the 360 or PS3.  Of course, no one really considers that because it's a handheld.

The World Ends with You, Chrono-Trigger, Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, Final Fantasy IV, Lunar Knights, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard, and Disgaea DS name but a few.  Granted, many are ports or updated versions of older games, but I don't think that matters, especially if you missed them the 1st time around.  And there are many more new titles coming this year like Blue Dragon Plus, Kingdom Hearts 358/2, Dragon Quest IX and Suikoden Tierkreis.

Here is a list of games you may have missed over the years, that are worth a second look if you're interested.  Most are cheap now, too.

Battlefield: Bad Company
Pure
DMC4
Eternal Sonata
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Overlord
Prince of Persia
Saints Row 2
Tales of Vesperia

Me, too.  Between God of War 3, Mass Effect 2, Killzone 2, Halo ODST, Heavy Rain and Alan Wake, both consoles have a potentially stellar line up this year.  As for the impact of exclusive DLC on a console's hardware sales success (not which version of the game people buy), that story is still being written.  While I think that GTA:L&D probably caused more people to buy the Xbox version of GTA IV, I'm not convinced it caused many people to buy an Xbox over a PS3.  Also, besides bragging rights, I'm not sure Microsoft will really recoup enough of the money they spent for that exclusivity through the L&D downloads or through extra console sales. We shall see...

The Watchman comic, along side Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns, set the standard for comics as we understand them today. In essence, the line between the "bronze-age" of comics ended with their release, and the "modern-age" began.

Bronze Age: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bronze_Age_of_Comic_Books
Modern Age: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_Age_of_Comic_Books

It's been ages since I've read the book, though. (Interestingly enough, I gave a copy to my nephew this past Christmas)  But, I do remember that, at the time, I preferred Alan Moore's V for Vendetta books.  I don't believe the V movie carried the same sense of grim oppression or desperation that the books did. I'm not sure if the Watchman movie will fall short in that sense, as well.
