WTF Videogames!?

In this blog I’m going to write about gaming. Unfortunately, there is no real reason behind it; I’m just another dude at work writing about something to pass the time. Well, here goes…

Who the fuck is calling the shots on this shitty box art!?

I like to think that gaming has a dichotomy at a point that I refer to as value. Value is subjective, and so of course your value could be nearly anything.

But when, when for the love of fucking god, would you ever think that value represents a game’s Price VS Box Art ratio!? Dear god… okay, shit, let me explain…

Typically, people that go out shopping without a concise plan are impulsive and their choice is often based on impression (looks). Nonetheless, people also don’t like to waste their hard earned money on anything, let alone videogames, so they are seeking a deal. But, here’s the kicker – buying games has been/is a gamble, especially when the consumer doesn’t know shit about the game except for the impression that they get from the box art.

You are probably thinking, “this is why people should do research on a game before buying it.” Well, let me ask this – Do you know that people are buying games based on the impression that they get from looking at the price tag and then looking at the box art?

Don’t be naïve; people are doing this.

I work with plenty of typical people that buy games via this methodology every chance they get. Some of them are parents that want to buy something for their children what looks like fun. Others buy the game because it’s a dating-sim game that hints at showing off more boobs. Hell, I even know some self-proclaimed “hard-core” gamers that have bought a game just because the cover had “a dude that looked like all anime and stuff with dragons and giant robots what look like Gundam”.

Fuck it; I don’t even know where I was going with this rant.

What I do know, is that despite all of this that I’ve written, I would definitely buy Demon Attack.

Because, you know, I did my Price VS Box Art ratio just now and it makes sense for my budget.

Oh, and FYI.
