well thats great a teacher that likes video games. i never really had one, except for one year. i had a lot of female teachers so they thought it was a waste of time. my english teacher and i would talk about video games.

i think all parents get pissed when you buy yourself new video games, video game console.

I really liked Spec Ops, I don't know how much choice It really gave you, but it felt like everything you did was major, and they put a lot of pressure on you. And they made you feel bad for the choices you made, and for the choices you didn't make.

So...I'll just throw this out there. I'm a teacher. I teach middle school special education. I love it. But I also grew up adoring games...usually from the outside looking in. I would see all my friends with their NES, Genesis, SNES, N64, PS1, etc. and be so jealous of them. I grew up always wanting to play games but never having the ability to do so until I hit college. I was on my own, I had a job, and I had some cash in my pocket. My roommate had an original Xbox. He showed me Fable: The Lost Chapters...and I was hooked. I couldn't get enough. I devoured games left and right, Fable, Halo, Splinter Cell, and more. Then we bought a 360. We destroyed games like Fallout 3, Fable 2, Halo 3, Gears of War, Lost Odyssey, and more. This love has continued...

Then I got married. Went back school. Got a job. Went through student teaching. And now here I am. A 26 year old teacher who still loves gaming with a passion. My problem however...I wish games would grow up with me. Don't get me wrong. I love the occasional "bro" game (Army of Two comes to mind) and their pure ridiculousness. I loved the complete insanity that was Saints Row the Third. But there are times when I wish there were more mature games. Games that aren't just black and white. Games in which my choices truly effect and have consequences in the game world. I've just started The Witcher 2 and so far, I've made some choices that may backfire on me. (I played a little of the original Witcher, enough to know that decisions can bite you in the ass.) And I like that feeling. I like that feeling of being in a gray area where I'm not sure what will happen. Will that ever happen? I don't know. I hope so...I think it will when we all move past that juvenile stage of "let's see how much we can make his head explode!" When that will be...if I'm judging by my students...not for a while unfortunately.
