My Favourite Games of All Time!

I like a lot of games, some more than others, but these are the games I truly love. Not only have they impressed me immensely but I've replayed them so many times that these games are more or less perfect in my mind.

Here is a chart that some people might find interesting. . .

  • Considered by many to be the best role-playing game ever made. Playing it for the first time in 2010(BG2 came out in 2000) and replaying it many, many times since, I can wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment.

It's a subgenre-defining(CRPG) game that is still unmatched to this very day by its clones. Fantastic writing with the right amount of questing freedom and guided story progression. Game-play is incredibly deep, with a Magic system that is second to none. It is the only game that has fulfilled my dream of being the most bad-ass character - fighter/mage/thief multi-class.

With such depth comes a steep learning curve that can overwhelm most players, especially the new generation. Like with most beloved RPGs the game has mods that can change its systems in varies ways, for example, loosen up many of the D&D systems that may seem too restrictive nowadays. Basically it lets you have "house rules" which is what most(if not all) D&D groups have.

  • Subgenre-defining(soulslike) game that is the pinnacle of its design even today.

Dark Souls changed the way I play games forever with its superb level design, creatures and most of all brutal but immensely rewarding gameplay. From little things like no map or pausing to huge stuff like endlessly extending replayability by doing challenge and speed runs. On top of that it has fascinating lore and world that will suck you in completely.
