In Brueges is kind of like watching a boxing match, its jokes come fast and hard but some segments are dragged out. In Brueges is about two hit men (Brendan Gleeson & Colin Farrell) who are told by there contractor to lay low in the town of Brueges (it’s in Belgium!) and wait for a phone call.. Instantly Ray (Farrell) the childlike hit man gets bored and decides against his bosses orders to convince his friend Ken (Gleeson) to accompany him on a night of tourism. The laugh factor here is a little unbalanced in the sense that you’ll laugh a lot but it’s very infrequent. Farrell and Gleeson work very well together and they actually feel like good friends. The biggest flaw of the movie is the length; it’s too long and dragged out clocking in at 1 hour and 47 minutes. In dragged out scenes the characters start out with a bad joke and go on for about 5 or 6 minutes, which is very annoying.
This is a definite
rental and no one should miss, just give the movie some time and you’ll laugh
at this dark comedy.
4/5 RENT
