About David Jaffe: I never visit Kotaku. Aren't they the ones that posted to big spoilers in Batman City? To hell with them I say. I don't agree wit Jaffe's views on video-game story-telling but I do admire him and love the games he makes. I can't believe Kotacu posted such a shameless article on him just to make a headline.

Am I the only one that is glad they did not go with the ''reimagineing'' idea in the reboot trailer?  The kreator originally wanted to turn Baraka into a human plastic surgeon and Reptile into some crazy human guy.

Anybody remember Jean Claude's Street Fighter?  Where Balrog and Honda were reporters and Dahlsim was a Shadoloo scientist?  If you liked that garbage then I can see why you would want MK's rich mythology to be replaced.  I don't like when they change stories so dramatically and would have hated to see Sub Zero be like an Ice-cream salesman trows scoops of ice-cream at his foes.

Mortal Kombat gets labeled as a cheesy-story fighting game when in reality it has one of the fullest developed character plots in all genres of games.  The Rivalries of The Shokans and Centaurs,  The tireless loyalty of the tarkatans to Shao Khann; also, the relationship amongst the White Lotus Monks, the Lin kuei, the Black Dragon on Earth Realm.

I could go on but my point is made.  And, again, remember the Street Fighter movie.  That's what you get when you change the story.

Are you kidding?  Braid was a playable poem.  The gameplay was fun and the puzzles were very interesting.  To boot, the whole game was a the story in the books turned into gameplay.

Having said that, I say all videogames are art;  there was a time when Rap music was not considered music even though, by definition, it is exactly that.

Think of it as it relates to these questions:

There was an artist that had museum displays of shit in a jar.
Did that artist make art?
Yes.  He was making a social critisism of how people value art only by who makes it - regardless of artistic value in the product-  it would be praised if    some famous dude made it.

If Justin Beiber or...say 50 Cent mases an autobiography,
Would a book about Justin Beiber, or Fitty,  be art?
Yes.  The book would comunicate to the readers and inform them somewhat of what the guy wants to say.

What would you consider more as art,  for example:
the God Of War games, the Curious George books, or the Avatar movie?
The answer is all are equally art for what is art is objectibe and can't really be measured.
Even when something might be more successful or ''artistic'' than something else, it does not take away from the fact that both are equal in definition.  Both are art.

It’s some sort of renaissance for the fighting genre of video games and I could not be happier.

I remember when I got the opportunity to play online Street Fighter with my brothers via Xbox Live.   I think it was CAPCOM vs. SNK 2 or Street Fighter Anniversary Collection back in the Xbox 1 generation.   Online gameplay had a promise of great things to come.

Still, the genre did not fully resurrect then.   Most people on the consoles would rather play games like SOCOM: 2 on the PS2 or Halo on the Xbox.   Personally, I would buy all kinds of fighters but many were not online compatible while others (MK5, 6,and7) were not that popular with my peers.

On the current generation, Virtua Fighter 5, Tekken 6, Soul Calibur 4, for example, Guilty GearXX, and some PSN or XBLA have had somewhat of a good audience but it wasn’t until Street Fighter 4 that the genre truly resurfaced.   There are a lot of great fighters now and several many more on the way.   The VS. series are back and even new ones have developed such as MK vs. DC Universe and the upcoming Street Fighter X Tekken.

The franchises that were on top during the 90’s are still the ones leading today; Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and Tekken, to name a few.   It’s interesting how none of the less popular fighting games that flooded the market back then survived.    Most were rip-offs and clones but a couple had good ideas.

I heard Jeff mention that Street Fighter X Tekken felt ‘’broken’’ but I know he’s into fighting games too and I’m sure he means it in a good way.   Street Fighter’s hadokens and Tekken’s juggles CAN work,

just ask the new Mortal Kombat.

''XBOX'', ''Quicktime event''. ...''Xbox, beat the game while I wabble my hands''.   Sounds sad but it's definetly the direction Microsoft is aiming.

The postapocaliptic tale HAD to be delayed.  Remember that the RAPTURE did not happen on May and I think it was pushed to October.  It makes sense for RAGE to wait.

I joke, of course.

You kidding?  That is one of the best games I've ever played.  I play online shooters and fighters but I still play GTA4.   I don't play it online much but I am still replaying Nico's story and doing random stuff.
