It was StarCraft for me. Actually, until I found this page, I wasn't even aware that The Fog of War was such a staple of the genre. I guess I need to play more RTS games.
Star Fox: Assault. I was one of the few who really liked Star Fox Adventures and thought it was a cool direction for the series, but Assault simply bored me.

I agree. Galaxy is the only game I've played in years and years—maybe even ever—where time is not an issue. I think about the time that's passing when playing most games, and worry about how much I have to finish and how much I've already played, but Galaxy I can just play and play. It flows so naturally that I don't even need to think about whether I like it or not. I just do.
