At this point I want them to start doing it. Who the fuck really wants to play through the exact same Modern Battlefield Warfighter campaign AGAIN? It's completely pointless and boring as hell, so I'd rather they just spend more development time on making something new in multiplayer.
I know this game gets a lot of hate for the bosses, and one of them in particular was fucking awful (the military dude that just walks up to you and kills you over and over lol)
But that game actually has one of my favourite fights. The fight where you fight the person who stealths, after they deactive all of your abilities. I liked it because it took away everything that you rely on (perhaps why others hated it?), it was a good story effect, and it was really intense relying on purely my vision while looking for a stealth boss with a distorted screen. I guess that's why others hated it, but I always love when games unexpectedly take things away from you and make you rely on purely yourself
So uh, I watched the first 5 minutes of episode 1 and thought it was cheesy, terrible, and would show absolutely nothing that I had not seen before. But people seem to be enjoying this.
I guess I'll give it another chance? I hope it gets better because my patience for shitty, cheap, cheesy, short exposition videos about video games has really fucking plummeted these days
Good thing that's not what these are!
You were right, I gave it another chance and the quality was definitely higher than I thought, and it does get better.
@AngelN7: I wish Leviathan made it into the game because it had some great missions and an awesome reveal at the end that would have made the overall game better if it made it into the shipping product.
Wait Leviathan is more than just one mission? I though it was sorta like From Ashes but with you getting Leviathan instead of a playable character ... I should download that at some point.
This post is leviathan spoiler free other than how I felt at the end of Leviathan. Obviously I disagree with them because I thought Leviathan was absolutely horrible from a gameplay perspective, but I'm warning you not to get too excited about the idea of multiple missions - It's more like doing the same two boring ass missions over. And over. And over. And over. And then getting 2 minutes of an ending that looks like it'll be excited, but leaves you feeling like "okay, this doesn't really matter and makes an already convoluted mess even more convoluted"
Yeah I agree on the gameplay weaknesses, even the mech addition didn't exactly add anything substantial but the whole mysterious overtones in the beginning of the DLC was what was interesting me
I agree, the mysterious undertones in the beginning were cool.
Then the same thing was done again.
And then again.
And the I was so bored I had to drink to get through it, so I don't remember if it did it AGAIN, but it might have. All to get to a pretty disappointing ending. Oh well.
My favourite part about the marketing is "has over 75 hours of content". I found that so interesting, how they must have debated for hours on what to put there.
"We need to make our games sound long, of course. With all the side missions, side quests, replayability.. shit, this package has THOUSANDS of hours!"
"whoa whoa whoa. The casual market is what we're after right now. They don't HAVE thousands of hours. If you just play the main story, it's about 15-20 each, let's call it 50 hours."
"50 hours? That's skimping it too much. Way too much"
