I put two fighting games on my list this year, Tekken Tag 2 and SFxT. I think Tekken Tag 2's a better game in a competitive sense and in many ways more well-built. But I put SFxT ahead of it on my personal list because I admired the way they assimilated Tekken characters into the SF style, and it's just damn fun to knock about on.
Oddly, we have four top ten games in common and none of them are Japanese. It seems our respective affections for the humble JRPG didn't see eye-to-eye this year. I definitely ought to get around to Graces f, and I'm not going to bring up The Last Story, since I know where that dark path leads.
Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to back away from that copy of The Last Story. We've been informed that it contains a large quantity of bad cliches and I'm afraid you might already be infected. If you're experiencing symptoms such as an acceptance and/or enjoyment of The Last Story's plot, I'm afraid it's too late for you. The best we can do is quarantine you from the rest of the general populace and let you live out the rest of your tragic life in seclusion.
This is not only for your own good, but for the rest of society's as well. I hope you understand.

@PixelPrinny: I'm actually not that big of a Tales fan. I don't have anything specifically against the series, but I've only played a couple of entries and neither of them particularly grabbed me to any great extent.

Dayum, you haven't played Tales of Graces? I figured it'd be right up your alley. Not a Tales fan in general, no interest in Graces in particular, or just didn't get around to it?
We should play some more SFxT if you still play that.

Seriously though, I wish I got into Borderlands 2 as much as I got into Borderlands 1. I think Diablo III and Guild Wars 2 exhausted my lootlust by the time I got to it, and that was what I loved so much about the first game.
