I first discovered Giant Bomb in August or September of 2009. I had just been stationed at Walter Reed AMC in Washington, D.C. and was listening to Garnet Lee's old podcast Weekend Confirmed while I was working in the lab. A civilian coworker heard me listening to that and recommended the Giant Bombcast. After listening to a few episodes of the Bombcast I made my way to the site and wound up watching the P4 Endurance Run after work over the course of two and half weeks. Been here ever since, probably the best recommendation I've ever received!

@north6: I feel like you're missing half of my proposition, it's not just about people choosing to, "Never read the comments," it's also about people never commenting at all.

I'm also curious as to why, if you think the comments aren't worth engaging with, you've made comments on that type of content yourself.

It's entirely out of reflex, there have been times that I thought I might have had something funny to say, or wanted to show my support to the GB crew about certain features, how much I like their stuff, etc. Ultimately though, that stuff is all pointless, the funny things to say should be left to the staff, and my show of support for GB is sufficient in a renewal of my subscription.

@hayt: The framing of my question, and the overtly negative opening to my post is, in hindsight, regrettable. My point is that it takes no effort to scroll down, but it would take some effort to go back to your profile settings, check comments to, "on," and then return to that video or review to then read the comments and/or post a comment. Maybe I'm just too simple, but if I see something has a hundred comments shortly after being posted I want to know what people are commenting about, and it's generally negative. I'm thinking of Beast in the East, GOTY 2017, and some more recent examples.

@pants: We all do buddy. I'm going to be honest with you, I only read up to, "Nintendo Labo..." before making this reply. I felt like anything you could've said afterwards would be superfluous. As much as the visitors of this site might miss him, I'm sure it's terrible for the staff that knew him. So, maybe let's not bring it up. It'll be five years since that tragedy this July 3rd, let's not keep dwelling on the greatest loss this website, and the people who make it what it is, has suffered and look ahead to happier times yet to come.

Hello all,

The new and improved Giant Bomb search introduced, "header-search__select," and for reasons I'm ashamed to admit, it immediately looked off to me.

(By about 1px)

But, there's been a change, "header-search__select," now has a height of 27.99 px, while, "search-main.header-search__input.ready," has a height of 29.99 px!

Thank you Giant Bomb Engineering Team. Some of us care.

Hey y'all, Trials of Osiris was a big draw for myself and two friends during D1 post-TTK. We'd run Trials for a few hours Sunday mornings until we eventually made our way to the Lighthouse. Now we're in a bit of a tough spot with the 4v4 nature of Trials in D2, no one else in our clan is interested in Trials and we've had to rely on picking up a fourth through r/fireteams the past few weeks. What I'd really like is to find a consistent fourth member from the Giant Bomb community to add to our fireteam. If anyone has any interest in running Trials, or knows of pre-existing groups to try and pull from, I'd love to hear it!

I listen to both, Bombcast the night of release while playing Destiny, and Beastcast the morning of release while playing Destiny.
