Does the Merlin count? It guess nostalgia is super expensive: http://www.amazon.com/1978-Parker-Brothers-Merlin-Handheld/dp/B002YZ8RFE

If not, then Double Dragon in the Peter Piper arcade.

Claim to be a 21 year old female and ask Steam to remove Infestation: Survivor Stories from your profile - then you will have people begging to play with you.

Yup same boat. I've switch a lot to smaller indie games, teleglitch, dust an Elysian tale and other games that don't require the massive time sink. I'm also a lot pickier about the big triple a titles I play.

Same boat, opposite response. Now I tend to only play epic games that can really draw me in. Part of it is that I'm harder to entertain, so it takes something extra for me to care anymore. And part of it is that I have less time so I'm more selective. Same for movies, TV, books, or anything that doesn't have a noticeable ROI.

Most games don't appeal to me anymore, but the right game will last me for a long time. I'll probably get years out of Dark Souls 2.

Dark Souls by far by any measure. Probably Test Drive Unlimited after that.

As an adult, most of the stuff here seems like creep out shocker stuff to me, which just not does instill FEAR in me, so my picks may not be welcome.

Personally, if it is trying too hard to be shocking or taboo, it gets me thinking more about the film makers than the film - my mind turns to the creators, the filming, the camera angles, special effects, etc - it really blows the immersion for me. Shocking combinations of gore, cruelty, religious themes, and sex are, for me, more laughable and mockable than scary.

I like getting scared, but it takes stuff that actually scares me to do it. Off the top of my head:

  • The Shining
  • The Vanishing (original)
  • Hotel Rwanda
  • Deliverance
  • Psycho
  • American History X
  • Full Metal Jacket
  • American Psycho
  • The Road
  • Night Crossing

As far as I'm concerned, 2014 is "The Year of Dark Souls II".

2014 is the year new consoles came out and I couldn't find a reason to care.

I actually feel like I could pick up Dark Souls 2 and pretty much take 2014 off other than that. Maybe play TLOU again, mess around in GTAO, play some Diablo 3 with the fam, finally pick up Metro, and wait and see how the Oculus Rift changes things in the coming year or two. We'll see what the year holds, but I'm feeling a lot of been there done that, and a lot of annoyance with the limitations of the supposedly "next gen" consoles. It's going to take something epic to grab me, and epic seems like it's going to be uncommon in 2014: the year of transition. I think I'm with fredchuckdave on this one:

The year of Dark Souls 2 and some other crap that came out this year

Funny to see all the COD in here. I hadn't played it in years, but I had to pick up Ghosts because...machine guns in space. And I liked the space levels, but not having any MP in space was lame - and the story...oh man, that story was sooooo ridiculous. The gameplay was great (maybe because I wasn't burned out on it in the first place so I can't judge it relative to other CODs) but I don't know if I could stomach another story like that.

Trying to play Uncharted 3 after Ghosts, the aiming in Uncharted feels terrible to me. COD controls are tight.
