Torchliiiiiiiiiiiiight! 4 stars seems about right. It lacks the polish and infectious personality of triple-A titles from the house of Warcraft, but gets all the little gameplay elements right. They've taken the best elements from Diablo and WoW, fixed all the niggling annoyances, and deftly streamlined the experience, so that all you need to care about is clicking monsters and picking up hordes of loot. Ryan didn't like it. Many other reviewers did. So what? Are we still at the point where we care what rating professional journalists give to a game, even after we've played through it, and already formed an opinion for ourselves? PlatypusPlatoon commented on the achievement Like a Million SunsSgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is the song I got it on. We had the Vocalist, Guitar, and Bass on Hard, and Drums on Expert. This is likely the easiest song to get the achievement on, as we were far from perfect, but still cleared 1 million by a fair amount. In story mode, did anyone notice that for the last song in every chapter, the pitch detection is more strict? Last night I finished Chapters 1 and 2 on vocals on hard, and on the fourth song in each set, the pitch bars were noticeably narrower. Gives you a little more granularity, and lets you separate out all those "average" 3-star games into 2.5, 3, or 3.5 stars, so it's a little easier to tell if something is worth trying or not. It's unfortunate there's no content to go along with the bikes other than time trials, cause the feeling of riding the bikes is awesome. I think the bikes should have been paid DLC, which would allow Criterion to justify spending more time in adding additional game modes and content surrounding the bikes.4 months, 2 weeks ago
