Gabrielle Ornar: Your thoughts?

I only found Gabrielle mentioned in one item so I may be missing key bits, but my speculation is she's the Queen. You'll notice all of the locust died once the machine went off, and even Adam turned to dust, but she was walkin' all fine and dandy....well, as fine as she could after being HOD'd 7 times. IS. SHE. HUMAN!?

Yeah, I'm fairly sure she is. I found two different collectibles mentioning her, and that bust of her in the hotel toward the end of the game looks an awful lot like the queen. It killed me that they didn't address that point at all in the ending -- why she looks human, how she came to rule the Locust, who the hell the Locust even are. Maybe that stuff will get resolved in a novel or some campaign DLC or something, but they really should have gone into at least a little detail about those things.

I ONLY found the bust and that was the automatic conclusion I made. It's speculation like this which make the collectibles my favorite part of the campaign. It reminded me of RE4 and how MOST of the actual story came from finding memos. My friend was also angered by Myrrah not being explained. I honestly don't feel Epic is strong enough in the character development department to explain her in a way which wouldn't totally fuck it up. However, as Jeff said there's obviously going to be another game and I'm sure they've sown some easy seeds. Everyone says prequel, I don't even think that's necessary; I look forward to some universe expansion.

Who's got two thumbs, just stayed up till 4 finishing the campaign (mainly due to shit like that crappy final boss and the torpedoes), and openly sobbed during Dom's death? This guy. However, I didn't like the ending much. I felt there should've been more elaboration on Myrrah which wasn't there. I felt her death was incredibly anti-climatic. As far as I'm concerned Dom's death was the only thing worth taking home aside from FUCKING BANDANA REMOVAL.

The trippy bits like the beginning and Cole's thrashball flashback could've used some more instances a la the scarecrow bits in Arkham Asylum.

That being said, I did enjoy Epic not taking itself too seriously at times. I enjoyed the thrashball machine with cole quotes, and the Carmine death fake-out....twice. However, I gotsta disagree with the Giant Bomb duders and say I thought Griffin WAS FUCKING STUPID. Act 4 is currently being purged from my mind.

If you are playing this on normal or above, I truly pity you because the undo button is the only thing which had made this game tolerable...and now even that can't help me.

The controls reverse when you go behind a block, just like a technique sheep tells you at a certain point. The controls don't reverse anywhere else except for a boss fight.

Except the game can't decide where the boundary is half the time, and if you rotate the camera the boundary changes. I've now had multiple deaths during boss fights where I've had to play a guessing game between left and right and just having to say, "fuck it," drop, and retry from a checkpoint.

Granted, I will admit some of that comment was out of frustration, I've settled down over the course of today, and I've wanted to continue playing: It's relieving to know I haven't given up on the game. However, I can't help but feel I completely agree with Jeff's review.

In games I would usually think, "Nah, I'll wait and let the voice-over keep up." because of the story, but so much of what people say doesn't matter I just read it quickly and skip through.

I really wish I liked the game more than I do :(

To put it "simply," I don't think it's a piece of shit or a BAD game; I recognize it's an incredibly risky, different concept, but in my opinion it does not work.

Maybe that's a little too review-y...but that's my frustration with the game.

At first I thought the story was worth it and Jeff just didn't like it how I did. Now I'm at stage 7-3 and just don't want to play it anymore. As the story developed I want to play the puzzles EVEN less, and then the nights get LONGER. I don't feel like I've actually gotten any better at the puzzles because I don't think you can be. It's a very flawed system where far too often I've ended up pushing a block back when meaning to push it forward or have died because the game can't decide when the controls reverse. It's time to look up a walkthrough and crank through the story, which I know will be fucking disappointing as all hell. If you are playing this on normal or above, I truly pity you because the undo button is the only thing which had made this game tolerable...and now even that can't help me.

I think it's pretty great so far. I often have the problem in moral games where I just am never tempted to choose the "bad" option. At first, I was mainly choosing orderly answers and thought, "Well, fuck...this again." But then I got to the first confessional, and Catherine offering the picture if you reply...and now I'm entering the grey area. I don't have much of a problem with the puzzle gameplay except I had a death caused by circling around back and then the controls not allowing me to leave a corner. I think it has charm out the ass and it definitely has entertained me in my first 2 hours.

As a math major I'm completely fascinated by the sheer math behind it....but I'm feeling a little lazy because I don't know the tricks/formulas. If I were to calculate the chances of getting a prime number I'd just crank out each permutation and calculate the percentage. Anyone else want to do it for me?

By all means, through in graphs and maybe even do calculations for other types of die.

I know what you're thinking, "Pomeroy, you're a really shitty math major." FOR NOW I AM....I'm at the point in school where everything is calculus and rote applications, not more pure, fun stuff.

I'm recently ready to withdraw from Arizona State University because of a simple factor, pace. I'm driven nuts by how slowly all of the classes move. I'm looking into online schools so I can breeze through my major like I want to. However, it seems I can only find a B.A. in Mathematics online and the course load is simply not enough for me to have a chance at grad school. So now I turn to the Giant Bomb community for help. Are any of you familiar with any programs I can look into?

I would definitely say it doesn't suck, and it STILL looks fantastic. This is coming from someone who ranks RE4 as one of my favorite games. HOWEVER, Sheva's AI is absolutely terrible and I dislike having to go through watching her waste bullets into my back. I definitely believe people who didn't play it JUST because it's so much like 4 needed to get their priorities straight.
