It can't be a price war when Activision Blizzard almost never discount anything. Diablo 2 and Lord of Destruction still go for 20$ each, for a 12 years old game and an expansion. That's the kind of games that would go for 6$ on gog.com. Call of Duty games stay for 60$ for a while after the next one is out. Even on Steam Black Ops was still 60$ after MW3 came out.

Its probably gonna be Awesomenauts. Ryan was saying he had an idea but that it went out the window as they were talking about Awesomenauts not coming out but is now totally out.

@NaDannMaGoGo: I'm not mad at the news or Joystiq, they just report what they hear and since there's never been any official statement from LucasArts they can't really know anything. Last i heard about this when i was still working there was that because of the contract they had with Free Radical they couldn't just take the project away and give it to some other Dev to finish the job. It probably just became a lawyer mess and decided to cancel it completely.

It is best this way anyway. You said you wish for something great and not just incrementally better or even equal. At it's best the game was essentially Battlefront 2 with better graphics which if it did came out in late 2007 or early 2008 might have been fine but that just doesn't cut it today.

And i will start by saying "The bullshit is strong with this one".

http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/27/this-is-what-happened-to-star-wars-battlefront-3/

Essentially everything in there is false.

The game was never canned after being completed, the game was never even near completion. I was working for the QA company that was testing the game and it was a fucking disaster. Nothing worked. LucasArts didn't can a completed game and a sequel to their most successful franchise up to that point, they took the project away from a vastly incompetent developer who had near the end of the project reduced the game to 3 class, and 5 or 6 maps with a 2 hour long campaign and was still mostly unplayable.

You can look at the videos in this thread: http://www.giantbomb.com/forums/off-topic/31/new-star-wars-battlefront-3-footage-shows-first-3-missions/542545/

This is as good as this game ever got and that's what this guy calls a "completed" game.

Lots of good tester lost a job that day and for a relatively small company that was a huge deal for us at the time.

I guess i've got no way to prove what i'm saying, you're just gonna have to trust a random stranger on the internet. But why would i get worked up for a 4 year old cancelled game anyway?

@Ravenlight: For adding pages i think i'll wait to get to 1000 pts. Shouldn't be too long, only missing 451 and made over 300 without too much work on 3 different pages in the last 3 days.

One last question not directly related to those. Since i've been credited in a number of games as a QA tester could i add my name to the credits of these games? Just asking but i'm not sure i would want to anyway...

I believe that if your name appears directly in the credits, it's fair game for inclusion on the credits page.

Also, this is the case. No matter what the reason if a name is in there it can be added to the database.

And for that i'll think about it. It just feels weird since my contribution is so unimportant. Even on my last project where i was leaps and bounds ahead of anyone else for bug counts you realize that a few hundred bugs is nothing in the end when there's over 70000 total.

Here's a couple of questions i couldn't get an answer by reading the wiki FAQ.

1 - For developers and publishers, should locations only list locations that relate only to the company itself or can major or common locations depicted in theirs games be added too? For example on the Valve Corporation page there are TF2 maps listed in locations.

2 - For games developed and games published, should only games that have been released be included or can games currently in development and officially announced be included too?

3 - How do you edit the Loyal Employees section? I see no edit button on that page.

4 - After you get to 1000 points you can create new pages(that still go through moderation). Can i request for a new page either here on the forum or PM a moderator before reaching 1000 points?

One last question not directly related to those. Since i've been credited in a number of games as a QA tester could i add my name to the credits of those games? Just asking but i'm not sure i would want to anyway...
