  • Proximo replied to the topic PX1 Headset for the PS3 in the PlayStation 3 board.
I could not find much on the PX1, so I figured I would give a little review of my own.The PX1 is a Gaming Headset with a Microphone for the PS3.  Turtle Beach makes it and it has many advantages I enjoy.First, let's get one thing out of the way first.  It's not wireless.....   This may be bad news for some of you and others won't care.  I do know ...

  • Proximo replied to the topic PS3 controller a piece of crap? in the PlayStation 3 board.
You can say what you want and we will all have different opinions, but there is a lot to say about a controller that has been this successful for this long. The Dual Shock 3 version of the PS3 controller has added weight and I don't care what anyone says about analog sticks.  They SHOULD be next to each other because it's natural.  The D-Pads are not used as frequently.  Yes, ...

  • Good to see that other gamers are honest out there.  I am not saying that the RE series is not good, but they need to get with the times and make sure that gamers would actually enjoy playing their game.  Nothing is more frustrating than bad controls.  This is what the gamer will be doing 100% of the time as they play through any game and it should easy to ...

  • I just played RE5 and it reminds me of how many gamers are loyal to a series regardless of any faults.   Let me just say this.  It's 2009,  if you can't make a game where you can AIM and MOVE at the same time.  You should stop making games.I find so many people defend the Resident Evil Series just because they are loyal fans of it.  That makes no sense ...

  • CL60 said: "Whats holding me back is that theirs not really any games that interest me on it rather than 1 or 2 games." Just a friendly reminder.  Most games are made for both the 360 and PS3, so the only games you could not find interesting are PS3 exclusives.  I believe the PS3 exclusives are great and the 360 also has great exclusives, but If you eliminated exclusives completely ...

  • Unfortunately,  The stereotype was born from one simple fact.  Gaming was an easy environment for people who where not that social and found it difficult to talk with others.   Gaming provided an escape for many people that felt more comfortable in a virtual world than a real world.  Even if this does not describe all gamers, there are still many out there that fall into this Stereotype. This does not ...

  • Proximo commented on Brad's editorial review Resident Evil 5
I think the lack of moving while aiming makes the game useless.  There is no excuse for limiting such a fundamental control element.  It took me about 10 seconds to realize you can't aim and move at the same time and right there I hated the game.So many other games offer great control mechanics, that I can't seem to see why people give this game a good review.  One of ...

  • Proximo replied to the topic Is it too late to get a PS3?? in the PlayStation 3 board.
Sony has proven that they support their consoles for the long haul.  So the PS3 is not only just getting warmed up, but it's going to be around for a long time.  It's reliable and has plenty of power to tap into yet.

  • It's hard to put down: COD4 keeps you coming back for more.  The ranking system, the weapon unlocks and the challenges you get XP points for are all great and add to the experience without taking your focus from the core gameplay. The single player game is great with some new twist in game modes and missions.  The meat of COD4 is on-line.  I think playing the story mode will prepare you for on-line.   The replay ...

  • It may seem like a cheap way to get revenge but it's life.  You are not going to prevent people from using it.  I only use it with a custom class for Close Quarters Combat.  I select this class in small, tight maps.  It's CHAOS!   Like War.

I find so many people defend the Resident Evil Series just because they are loyal fans of it.  That makes no sense to me.  If the game has a flaw, it has a flaw and should be reviewed fairly with the flaw in mind.

This reminds me of the gamers who can find no wrong with any Metal Gear Solid games.   GRRRRR.

Exclusives is something many gaming platforms are living and dying on.  First let me say that I am all for exclusives.  This is the ability for a Developer to focus all their resources and vision for a game based on a platform that can make it a reality.   Exclusives pull the best of the platform they are developed for.

With the cost of gaming going up,  I understand when more and more developers are going multi-platform.  It's not cheap to make these next generation games and it's a good business model to reap as much profit as you can.  I don't have any issues with this at all.

What I do have a problem with is when Gaming Companies like Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo pay for developers to become exclusive or pay for exclusive content.  I believe this takes away from the gamers.  If you are not fortunate enough to have more than one console for example,  you would hate for a developer to make an exclusive for the other console just because somebody forked over a bunch of cash.

I say let your system do the talking.  If a developer felt that a particular vision they have for a game is best suited for a particular console due to it's specifications.  Let them decide to make an exclusive for that console.  This keeps the focus back on the developers for creating great games and not base their decisions on cash jammed down their throats.

Fanboys -

Why do they exist?  What is the point?  Do you get paid to talk bad about the others?

Being a Gamer,  I honestly don't see the point of Fanboys (girls).  We are gamers and should appreciate games.  If we only had one company making games,  we would all be very disappointed with the quality and innovation found in today's gaming market.  Why would a company try hard to impress you if there is no competition.

I think the best thing that can happen is for all 3 major consoles and PC games to do very well.  The gamers win in the end.  So quit hating on the others and focus on the games.  Each platform will always have some kind of exclusive that we can all enjoy if you where only honest with yourself.

I find that many who can't afford to buy more than one Platform to fill their gaming needs are usually the ones who become fanboys and try to justify their choice over the others.  If you could afford to have more than one,  You will no longer live in the world of Exclusives.  You will simply just have more choices.

So don't be a Fanboy.  You should hope that the competition between the platforms stays competitive and drive innovation and choices for us all.
