Exclusives is something many gaming platforms are living and dying on. First let me say that I am all for exclusives. This is the ability for a Developer to focus all their resources and vision for a game based on a platform that can make it a reality. Exclusives pull the best of the platform they are developed for.
With the cost of gaming going up, I understand when more and more developers are going multi-platform. It's not cheap to make these next generation games and it's a good business model to reap as much profit as you can. I don't have any issues with this at all.
What I do have a problem with is when Gaming Companies like Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo pay for developers to become exclusive or pay for exclusive content. I believe this takes away from the gamers. If you are not fortunate enough to have more than one console for example, you would hate for a developer to make an exclusive for the other console just because somebody forked over a bunch of cash.
I say let your system do the talking. If a developer felt that a particular vision they have for a game is best suited for a particular console due to it's specifications. Let them decide to make an exclusive for that console. This keeps the focus back on the developers for creating great games and not base their decisions on cash jammed down their throats.
