I want to see either vinny or dave playing this game for a quicklook.
Two Worlds II
Game » consists of 11 releases. Released Jan 25, 2011
Sequel to the cult hit action RPG Two Worlds, Two worlds II takes place years after the original and follows the story of the character from the first Two Worlds as he continues his struggle to defeat Lord Gandohar.
I demand a quicklook with Dave!
I actually want a QL of this game too. It seems interesting. Dave and Vinny would be the cherries on top.
I second/third/whatever this request as well. I'd love to see a good ol' Dave explanation of the DEMON (magic) system in the game, with all sorts of wonderful results.
Sure, why not. I feel like Dave doesn't get involved in stuff much. I mean, what else does he have to do, work?!
" The Two Worlds games have always seemed to have the potential to be great, but for some reason the first one didn't live up to that. Would really want to know what the crew thinks of the second installment. "I don't recall anything from the first game seeming to have potential. The second game works because they looked at what works in other games, especially the Witcher, and made a game more in line with that.
I'm playing through the game right now actually, and so far it kind of feels like what would pop out if Oblivion had a baby with the Witcher. Moral choices aren't really big so far. I'm not too far in, as far as I can tell, and so far most quests seem to be either good or bad choices. No morally gray areas or stuff like that. Exploration is huge, however you can still be barred off from some caves simply because you aren't a high enough level. So that's fucking rad.
I'm playing on an old AMD dual core 3.0ghz processor and a GTX 260 with 4 gigs of ram and I can say the game is super optimized. After some tweaking of the in game's options, it still looks gorgeous and runs at a solid 60fps at 1080p. Pro tip: Turn down grass draw distance to like 4 or 5 since the game is heavy on depth perception, you don't really need miles of grass rendered ahead, and it gives a nice performance boost. I can't see why newer PC's would have much trouble playing this game maxed out at all.
To make things even better (for some of us), the game works natively with a 360 controller as you can see by the UI so I've been chillin on the couch for the past 20 hours or so playing this on my shiny new Sony Bravia 46" screen with a DVI to HDMI connector and spdif run through on the GPU for digital sound. Of course the mouse and keyboard for those purists works amazingly well. The camera just feels so fucking good whenever I swing it around for some reason. Maybe it's the crazy amount of motion blur or something.
I am in heaven. Also the game totally has this Guitar hero (dare I say "Rock Revolution") style "Bard" mini game where you can jam out with a town's local musician on your instrument of choice (drums, flute, guitar, violin, harp) and rake up tons of cash. I myself am a pretty hardcore harp player.
I would say if you have any interest at all in a game that's like oblivion or the witcher, I would seriously give this game a chance. You can pick it up off Amazon for like 50 bucks on PC. I found my copy marked at 40 for some reason at Target a few days ago. Totally worth every penny, especially when I needed a fix for this sort of game.
So is there a way to steal shit from dudes who are in the room, or do you just have to wait it out? I tried to murder them but they just don't seem to care when I try to brain them with my morningstar and they get all googly-eyed at me when I try to jack their shit. I did just unlock thievery though and now am stealing from fucking everything and everyone. So much fun. Also I like how the dialog trees just go to instant dick choice and your dude just automatically demands more money. I haven't been turned down yet." @wolf_blitzer85: Moral choices are never an issue. If you fill up the sword you'll get in a few fights. When you leave town, everyone forgets it happened. In other words, break into every house and steal everything, be a real asshole, it pays off. "
And I think they finally made this type of game where stealth actually works for me. Stabbin' Varn like fools.
I honestly don't think Dave would like this game, to be honest. I've completed it a couple of months back (I'm from Europe) and while it is fun for what it is, it pretty much just plays like a common action-RPG... the combat is pretty much mindless and Dave isn't usually very fond of that.
But sure thing, I'd also love to see that QL come true-- Dave and Vinny are my 2 favorite GB staff (or GB related, in Dave's case).
" @ryanwho said:Most people are out about town during the day and in the house at night. So I would break the door locks at night then invade houses during the day. Lockpicking is fun, pickpocketing is stupid and has very little payoff. You'll get more loot than you know what to do with just lockpicking like crazy (and just lockbreaking later on, when you have a strong weapon)So is there a way to steal shit from dudes who are in the room, or do you just have to wait it out? The notes you play are mapped to the shoulder buttons on the 360 controller, so if you can configure those controls to a GH controller, it might work. It might be a little too much. I wouldn't really recommend it as after awhile you start to get really good at using the shoulder pads, and plus the timing is super lose so precision isn't really key either. That and there really isn't a strum function. Just hit the buttons." @wolf_blitzer85: Query: What happens when you plug in a GH2 or RB1 USB guitar and try to play the instrument mini-games? "
It's all about getting a group of people to gather around while you're playing with a musician. I can usually get about 3-4 thousand gold per song if there is a good crowd. So far it's been the best wait to make a ton of cash that the game has presented me thus far.
However if you can rip up some tunes with a GH controller, then more power to you. Just make sure you have some leather armor to go with that mighty axe.

Yo, we put a game in your game, so you can game while you game! Inception. OK, I'll stop.
Just so you know though, I did at one point use my RB1 guitar controller to play Left 4 Dead on PC. It takes some tweaking, and it's still never great, but it's possible. L4D actually works a bit better on drums. :P

Back to Two Worlds!
I wish they'd give the game some much needed attention but my fear is that, knowing how GB does half of their quick looks, they'd boot it up and spend 45 minutes in horrible tutorial area, hate the game, bash it on first impressions, and then the comments would be about how much the game looks like it sucks and further make the people that defend the Two Worlds games has out of our minds. The game takes a couple of hours ish to get to the point where it opens up to a much wider area, and if they just played the very first part of the game, it'd be a horrible impression of the game for everyone to see.

"Yup. This is what happens all the time.
