I had West Virginia getting to the final, and they still gotta shot. I'll predict Mich St. vs. W. Virg. in the final, and Huggins gets his first NC. Anyone but Duke! ,lol.
The voices aren't bad at all. I was afraid they'd be much worse. The dialogue, for the most part though , is pretty bad. The whole story's premise is uninspiring imo. LO was so much better, better written, and so much more poignant. I cared about those characters a lot. These... not so much, at least not yet(10 hrs in). The battle system is fun and develops nicely. Prolly the strength of the game I'm guessing.
Killing assault(or more often not)class. They're ridiculously tough. The game's balanced though and an absolute blast every night. Best mp going imo. And with all the class upgrades it should have a substantial online lifespan. Oh and those sketchy EA servers I guess are the biggest pain actually.
The devs made a conserted effort of getting players to use various stealth features of the game(see the achieves): headlight on/off, throwing knives, lights that you can blow out(lamps)/turnoff/pop, pneumatic guns, silenced rifles, etc.. so this is a survival game featuring shooting AND stealth people.
There's no slowdown at all tc. I've heard that the GB crew has to slow down the FR to film the quicklooks....dunno really why/true.??
Anywayz: I'm almost done w/my 1st playthrough, and the game is great in many respects. The graphics and models are excellent(esp. the monsters!!). It doesn't hold your hand though; be prepared to figure stuff out without much clue. The atmosphere and setting is very immersive, and the gameplay is good once you get used to it. It's a shooter/stealth mix for sure. There are glitches, nothing gamebreaking at all though, and at times the enemy human AI are dumb, but mostly it is tense, gritty, and fun...especially towards the end imo. There's also replayability because there are so many side areas to find, and missions that aren't required to finish to progress the story, and some are easy to miss. I expect the replay to be even better from the orientation of the first play and the chance to get all the mission achieves etc.
Oh and btw, the word from the russian community is that if you understand/speak russian, the story and comments throughout the game add a ton to the story and interest of the many npcs. Apparently the English translation is rather weak. Russian is a language option, and could add to the immersion even more, understanding or no I spose.
Apollo, during the purple screen cut, go forward toward your partner; that'll get you to another scripted thing and you'll get through. Took me a while to get that as well. And not to worry, more frustration awaits. :p
