And the thing about 'Catch' is those grunts throw those grenades across 1/3 of the map(at least on the insane bonus round, lol), on Lost Platoon.  Four of us got to almost 700 K, and finishing set 4, only on normal,  and we were all too tired to continue after 97+ minutes... after we got the 200K achieve and realized the set 4 achieve was only for Heroic....bummer.  That map should be played on heroic  if you got 4 guys anyway.  Epic stuff overall agreed, Crunch.

Yeah it definetly has a CE feel.  From the health system, the pistol, the more vulnerable tactical style needed to progress, and especially the pacing and much less linear style of 2 and 3, it really has that feel of the first Halo that was so epic for me.  If you dug Halo:CE you should also really like ODST imo.  And Firefight is just a truly awesome bonus.....so damn fun with a good team......but be ready for some marathon sessions, lol.  And those bonus rounds are just so crazy and amazing.....just made me say wtf...serious?

" Awesome video.  That Veyron will be the high speed oval lap time car I'll just guess, at 250+ mph w/16 cylinders and the quad turbos.  It's pretty cool that T10 finally got the Veyron in their game.  Can't wait....it'll be almost a years worth of addiction for me just like Forza 2 was. "

no I don't think so.  on top gear the veyron didn't fair too well on the test track (edit: er, shouldn't say that exactly, it made it to 5th place below the zonda F), it's just a car that goes really fast in a straight line. "

On the OVALS.....it'll be tunable enough to put up fast laps in teh game, lol, u just watch.

That 28.9% not playing FNG, makes me wonder if that's because that percentage or prolly less don't own the game.   I mean what kind of hardcore CoD fan who bought the game would fail to play that sp?  I would be very curious to see similar stats for Halo 3.

Even Bungie knew this was a bit of a gamble for precisely the reasons you mentioned tc.   They wanted to break the mold of what people can expect from a Halo game.  ODST will be different than the previous three Halo games...hopefully in a good way.  For anyone interested, this video really gives the game some good development background and Bungie's motivations for making the game.  They're even honest enough to admit guessing if they screwed the pooch, lol.

I love Halo games in general, but I'm going into this game with lower expectations than usual for a Halo game.  It's just more Halo 3 imo,  despite the obvious ODST related differences.  At least I've pretty much always looked at this game that way since it's announcement way back when.

Firefight will be very fun w/friends I bet, but I really think it'll only stay that way for a while.  Maybe I'll be surprised, but i doubt it.  It's all good; I'll still play it day one and look forward to the co-op campaign with a good bud online.  I think the real Halo treat will be Reach and I'll be considerably more hyped for that one.  Renting is a good idea if you're not sure tc.

Liking it....it looks absolutely stunning.  Best looking racing game I've ever played.  Anyway, this game is NOT a sim.   But it is still fun and not pure arcade either, more of a blend like the PGR games.  The opponent AI is a little too aggressive; you really have to beat and bang often in the free races.  Very fun regardless.  Codies really went for the X Games style in the game, so only cross discipline racers are in the game, but they're not too annoying....certainly not as bad as Pastrana was in DiRT.

Now....if I could have it my way, like some have said above, it would have been so cool if at least one portion of the game was just pure rally, with the real cars and tracks and drivers.  If Sony owns WRC, OK fine,  then just emulate the burgeoning US rally series........but I miss the old McRae games too,  that were all about the pure sport of rally racing.

Forza 3 easily for me.  The ability to customize in wildly varied and indepth ways the performance build and tune, as well as the paint schemes(even wilder in terms of variety)of your cars, makes the overall experience of racing in career or online soooo much more rewarding in my experience than other racers, let alone the awesome forzamotorsports.com community that helps keep the fun rolling for years literally.  NFS Shift seems like a good move for EA and the franchise, and the devs are proven already, but it just isn't in the same league with Forza 3, in terms of depth and breadth and especially value imo.

I forgot what Bioware said about this.  Do you at least get to carry over the extra skills you picked w/yur high level characters for ME2??  Anyone able to summarize this carryover business?  Thanks if so in advance.  I have a lvl 55, and 60 shouldn't be too hard to get to, but I just lost interest during my second playthrough back then.....the sides are soooo boring, especially the second time through.
